Seeing my CA bestie tomorrow! Woo Hoo!! She was supposed to fly in last Sunday near midnight, but due to Sandy, got put on an earlier flight, which she somehow missed. Haven't heard that story. She was then supposed to come in Tuesday or Wednesday of that week, but didn't. Good thing, since she'll also be working while she's here, and her cousin didn't have power. Even though her cousin got power back in two days, her house was chaotic cause then her daughter's and their families came there to stay since they were still without power. So, she finally got on a flight due in this past Wednesday, and then she got put on an earlier flight due to the Noreaster. She was beginning to think NJ was trying to tell her something. But she finally landed 6:30 am this past Wednesday and was reunited with her luggage that had been sitting at Newark airport for over a week!

Her 50th was Nov. 5, and she would've been here for it were it not for Sandy. I had messaged her cousin to see if there were any plans to celebrate her bday, and her cousin said, "oh, I hadn't thought about it." Then I got a message yesterday from my friend saying her cousin was having a birthday dinner for her on Saturday. So, that's that.

I'm just going to go ahead and admit that I have no idea what or who a Fun. is. Or was. I'm that old.

Our internet went down at 5:30pm last night and didn't come back up until just now. Hard to take class attendance online when nothing is working. We asked teachers to handwrite attendance reports and post them outside their classroom doors. You would have thought we had asked them to re-write the U.S. Constitution. Sigh.

Friday greetings to all.

Wishing all with fun weekend plans to enjoy them.

I'm feeling so sad today, with the latest news about Barb.

I am reminded of a quote from one of my favorite films, OUT OF AFRICA. Karen Blixen says of Denis:
"Perhaps he knew, as I did not, that the Earth was made round so that we would not see too far down the road."

I keep coming back to that thought. The things we don't know that are just down the road. When we gathered to say goodbye to Rachel (no point in changing to BWW names) in June, we had no idea that Barb was on this same journey.

Big life lessons in all of this.
The best of times really are now.

They are a them and they did the song "We Are Young" that was all over the bungee jumping Chevy commercial earlier this year and their current hit dominating the airwaves is "Some Nights" (Have you see the Wreck em Ralph movie commercial recently - it plays on it).

Just sad.

Cheyenne Jackson tickled me. AFTER ordering SoMMS a drink but NOT tickling him, and hanging out with Girly in his dressing room (where he DIDN'T tickle her) but BEFORE we got married. To others. And then he tweeted Boobs. He also tweeted he's good friends with some chick on "The Voice" who just happens to be good friends with Tink's ex. And I'm still married. Oh, and this just in: "Pettiness, spite, malice ....Such ugly emotions... So sad." - After Eight, talking about MEEEEEEEE!!! I'm so honored! :-)

oh, and the other thing about the concert last night - they did a big speech about marriage equality and said that $1 from every ticket was going to a Marriage Equality Foundation (I didn't catch the name). I was pretty impressed and all of the college kids were pretty into it.

I want to go back to the days when we played musical chairs and pin the tail on the donkey. The days when we had Dixie cups with half chocolate and half vanilla ice cream. The days when our parents said " as long as you live under my roof!" I miss those days.
