How poddie-like was it that we both did the same thing on Saturday WITHOUT ever talking to each other about it. I didn't find any mice in the garage, but I did find that mice have been eating one of the packs of shingles left by the roofers. ASPHALT shingles! The world can do without mice.
Poddie, that is funny. The mice were actually nesting in my garage. They picked at the plastic the was housing my fine china dishes. Luckily they didn't eat through. Hopefully now that I put one of those wall thingies that keep them away they will stay away. I have a feeling this all happened when I was in Singapore. HC had put down poison traps months ago and they haven't been touched from what we can see. I'm also going to rub some towels on the cats and put them in the garage. Just their scent will keep those critters away.

We have not had mice in a few years! We have plenty of other rodents in the alley, etc.
Another rear-ender by a daughter! And, now I have no car for a few days.
Great weekend with C18 and much of the family for a wedding. Nice, casual and an assortment of hicks!
Crappy Monday indeed!
Mice. Yuck.
Brd, sorry about the car.
Had a wonderful weekend with family, celebrating b'days. Was in D'Town on Saturday, and went to the Scarecrow Festival in Peddler's Village. Beautiful day! Dinner was in Lambertville at Lily's on the Canal. Yum.
Sunday was brunch in Delaware with the b'day niece. Then we sat in bumper to bumper traffic as I drove up to CT then back to NY. Bumper. To. Bumper. I barely got home in time for 'Revenge'!
Great weekend.
Back to the grind...

Yikes that is a lot of driving! We drove back and forth 3.5 hours but literally NO traffic!
AT&T did another masterful job of customer service this weekend. Supposedly I was to have a U-Verse install on Saturday between 1-3 - after shutting down my landline and DLA Saturday morning, and confirming the appointment on 3 different occasions via an auto-message ... no one showed or called again.
After multiple calls, I found they unilaterally decided to reschedule, but did not bother to consider the fact that my phone and Internet would be shut down. Oy.
Everyone I spoke with was nice, but at this point, I am giving up on U-Verse, and getting a discount on my current service for the next year to mollify me. For the record, they do not disclose that U-Verse is VOIP. And in the event of a power outage or earthquake (which is why I have a landline), it would not work.
Happy Monday Adults. Someone send me some Aspirin. I have a headache after banging my head against the wall again and again and again.
AT&T - great people (seriously, they call center folks were generally very good) and a sucky infrastructure - which is ironic since it is supposedly a communication company.
*sends aspirin*
Anyone who works for AT&T should be shot
As I made clear (out of a wee bit of fear) the people were fantastic. (peaks around corner).
A slap upside the head will do a world of good to all AT&T employees
It was so nice knowing you, Boobs.
The Tropical Section is being moved, but it will now be lit.
And our trip to London to see Linnie is postponed. I have a high school friend who decided to horn in on the trip. J2 had a (justifiable) hissy fit last night and we decided not to go. We're not telling him until the day after the boat sails. (He's sailing over.) YWiW, you met him when he horned in on our theater date last December.

Deet - that's not a friend, that's a nuisance!
Hola, y'all! Work computer has been up and down (mostly down) since Friday. I *might* be OK now. They rebuilt the whole thing twice, so....
Commuting was interesting this morning with all the Federal workers trying to get in so they could shut down systems and go back home. Usually the Federal offices open and close on a staggered schedule but this morning everyone decided to get the inevitable over early so the roads were quite crowded at 6:30am. Glad I'm missing the mass exodus OUT of the city, which will also take place this morning!
oh dear... sorry that you have to miss it, Deet.
Sad news about NYCO. I kept hoping they would be able to find a way out of this. It's hard to believe the curtain has come down.
Happy October. Even though it feels like summer. (Bring on the cool, crisp air, please!)
Deet, saw your photos on facebook of your kitchen selections. Nice! I believe we picked out very similar cabinets. When will the actual work begin?
Don't really have much of anything to add. Just... hi.
We're hoping after the holidays, Addy.
And we're planning to reschedule our trip for January, so we'll miss out on some of the hell. We're going to be missing some of the things we wanted to see, but Linnie's show is booking well into the New Year so it'll still be around.
Morning peeps! Deet, I know people who can take care of your "situation". Just sayin'
HC is so disgusted and sick over his job that he stayed home today to work on his resume. Anyone know of a company seeking an HR person don't hesitate to contact me.
Phone and DSL back on - Happy Dance. The folks at AT&T are all very nice. But for a communications company, kinda sucky at communicating.
And Deet, yuck. Not a bad guy, but not someone I would plan a trip with. The whole boundaries thing seems a little lost.
Then again, I am spending New Years on a boat cruise with my family, so who knows. I am bringing an extra bottle of gin just to be safe.
Boobs, that just sucks. Any info I know of would not be near you, unfortunately.
YWIW, I'm glad you finally got that AT&T thing sorted out. I'm sure Girly had her hand in it....literally. I know if you could help HC you would. My heart breaks for the way he is being treated. Hopefully he is meeting with an attorney this month. He needed to cancel an appointment with one who wanted $300 for just a consultation. I found him one who will give him a free consultation for 1 hour.

It can be difficult to find Plaintiff's attorneys for employment cases with contingent fees rather than hourly.
My sister works for the federal government, wonder if she is on furlough?
Have to go meet the insurance appraiser for the rearender!!!! Ugghhh.
Good luck, brd. Let us know how you make out.
Poor HC!
We have HR people here in theory but not in execution. They are never physically here and do not respond timely to any inquiries and generally are about 1 -2 months late on any company news, including new and exiting employees. But we already know my company is preposterous on every level.
That sux Tinky!
I'm so excited that my garbage men took away all my garbage. It seems the only thing they left behind was my ex's TV. Damn I can't sell it or throw it away. It's like some evil thing that just won't leave! I'm going to leave it on the curb and see if anyone takes it like they did his computer. Oooopppssss I hope he had nothing important on it
I hope that the person who took it hasn't been arrested.
Happy Humping!
Wasn't that a musical w/ Ethel Merman?
