Just tell him Joop is allergic to live Christmas trees. That's what my mother said about me when she got tire of vacuuming up the pine needles.
LMAO! Deet, that's great! HC's been wanting one for the past couple of Christmases and so I gave in this year. I prefer artificial. They're easier to decorate too. Real ones you have to keep remembering to water. This morning I woke up and it was completely dry. One more thing I have to remember to do in the morning.

So, everyone knows the tale of my ever-present Christmas tree, right? I held out against an artificial tree for years, even though I'm super allergic to pine. We switched to spruce and I still hacked and wheezed. But I was willing to suffer for the sake of tradition. I just took copious amounts of antihistamines and carried around an inhaler and a box of kleenex. Then, on year, Moonchild came home from college and started sneezing and wheezing, too. That year we put the tree outside the minute Christmas day was over and went to Macy's to take advantage of the post-Christmas sales to buy a fake tree. Best damn decision we made in years. I'm just sorry I held out so long.
Moony, I already have my eye on the tree I want
Hey guys, just thought I'd pop in and say hello :) It's been two years since I even checked the boards, and many years since I regularly posted, but you're always not far from my thoughts!
Especially you, Boobsie! You know you're my favourite :)
Doxy! What a nice treat to see you here.
Well hopefully permanently! I don't think I can justify disappearing again
Hey Doxy! I miss you buddy boy. Don't be a stranger around here! You've stayed away too long XO
And I don't really know why... I think about BWW a lot, just never logged in. How strange, considering this was a life-altering addiction of my late teens (can you believe we all started posting here 9-10 years ago? my lord, how time flies!)
AND you went from one continent to another in that time. Where do you call home nowadays?

Hello Paradox!!!!
Disaster averted by kindness, Mrs. Brd left her purse at the lunch table, we returned and a kind stranger had taken it to security!
See brd, there still is kindness and good in this world.

For this, I will not be such a cranky old man today! I am VERY excited that C20 is coming home. Boyfriend will be over all weekend. Very nice kid, demure but handsome. Quite shy. He is scared of me which is a good thing.
My 2 brothers and I used to tortured my sister's dates. This one poor kid was so nervous with all our questions. Of course he was a good kid and the one we wished she married. He really loved her, but of cause she chose the biggest loser.

My undiagnosed bi-polar alcoholic sister married a great guy and then divorced him without any real reason. Now, she lives in Western Kansas on a crappy farm with no heat in the bedroom with an alcoholic with liver failure. NEITHER of them have jobs or income other than his SSDI!
Well my sister works to support her crack addict husband and good for nothing son. Her daughter is still in grammar school, but I can see the kid is going to be much like my sister. They try saving the world one low life at a time.

Sad! I do have a few good brothers in law and some very nice sisters in law. And, one excellent mother in law!
I have 2 great sister-in-laws and the new one (2 months) is nice enough so far. I do have 2 good brother-in-laws.

My father is the nicest narcissist I have ever met. Talks incessantly about himself, but is kind, loving and brilliant! The guy can quote from any historical or literary reference.
Hey Brd! Long time no speak!
Boobsie, I'm still in Prague... 5 years now and counting. Did the Czech premiere of RENT earlier this year, which got picked up by a big theatre and now have my first proper professional theatre contract for performances starting in March! Very excited!!!

Morning. Enjoying my last PTO day of the year, though it does consist visiting a close friend in the hospital (severe pneumonia) and a wake. But all good, had a really fantastic weekend. So sad I had to miss framily times though.
I always had fake trees so I never grew into that love of pine smell everyone else seems to have.

MT - I was at a funeral on Saturday, too familiar as my friend lost his father just two years ago - same church, same Elk's Club.
Somewhat boring weekend, Double duty Sunday morning - Christmas time so great hymns and stellar psalm.
No shopping yet, Mrs. Brd decimated the bank account on Saturday, but she is almost finished shopping.
Crappy Monday!
