I knew something would open up as it got closer!!

I'm glad I checked this morning. Only the premium seat was still open.
I don't even have balls and I feel like life is kicking me over and over in them.
Morning peeps! *hugs JG2*

OOOOH! Big drama in my building unfolding right now, all on Facebook, PMs and emails!
It seems that the Kingdom Hall next door is infiltrating the building with their propaganda. It also seems that only the gay couples are being targeted, some of them with personalized letters.
Fun for a Tuesday.
It's funny that I was with some dear old friends on Saturday. I'm not sure if it comes with age or what, but people lose their filters. They say whatever they want and think we should be fine with it. Well I won't any longer. I am never rude or insulting to my friends and expect the same in return. If you can't honor that then you don't deserve to be in my life. Life is just too short to waste your time fixated on others hurtful words. BTW I don't need to explain my life choices to anyone. If you can't accept who I love or how many animals I own just shut the f*ck up and mind your own business. I could give a flying crap how you live your life, so I'd appreciate if you keep you thoughts to yourself about mine! *rant over*
I posted this on FB, but I thought I would share it here as well. Sometimes we forget our simple blessings of living in a safe home.
So last night, I had a chat with a woman I am friendly with who also works in my office building who lives in a pretty bad neighborhood. In past conversations she has commented that it is not a great place, but all she can afford. Something was off with her, and she was far less engaged than usual. She told me her boyfriend and two sons were at the basketball court playing last week, and her boyfriend was shot and killed in a drive-by - in front of her sons. Her boyfriend was not in a gang, he was a good guy, just wrong place, wrong time. Her sons now are afraid to go outside.
She just kept shaking her head saying "we were doing OK, we were doing OK".
She wants to move to a safer neighborhood for herself and her two sons, but cannot afford first and last to move. She lives check to check.
She is a nice woman, always pleasant, and sometimes, we visit and talk. We laugh, and share thoughts about the shenanigans going on in the world. She could be me if I had been born into different circumstances.
My heart kind of broke for her, as a mom, with so few options - knowing that she wants to and should do better for her children, but not being able to do so.
She wants to move to a safer neighborhood, and the biggest detriment is first and last. It is just money. I gave her a bit to start her fund. Not a lot, but something. She was not asking, and tried to refuse it saying she could not accept it. I just asked her to let me start it, and maybe over time, there would be enough.
In terms of having a safe home I have been blessed in so many ways; she did me a favor in letting me feel a little less guilty for all of those that I received.

YWIW, what a tragic story - with such an important message.
We truly do all need to count our blessings. Even with the day to day struggles that come with life, we are group who are greatly blessed.
Boobs, very true. If you are my friend, I accept who you are. It's important to keep that in focus. We tend to 'judge' a little too easily... maybe not on purpose, but it comes out in little ways.
My personal rules for life right now are pretty simple.
Keep breathing.
Count my blessings.
Hold on to HOPE.
Enjoy each day.
And on that note, back to meetings, which I will try to enjoy!
Happy April, dear ones.

Good God, what a day.
This whole thing has just blown up way out of proportion. Of course our managing agent, corporate coward that she is, passed the buck and claimed there's nothing she can do and that it's up to the individuals in the building to stop them.
So I called my attorney to get the scoop, and as I suspected our managing agent is full of crap and not doing her job.
I've gotten them fired before, I have no problem doing it again.
Well, BB, you do have way too many pets. I kid. Did you smack anyone?
Amber, I'm so sorry for your loss.
Btw, I love you all. XOXO
Awwww, Shamey! Always a pleasant surprise.
Thanks for the support, guys. I was really hoping 2013 would be better. Talk about highs and lows. This little goofball helps, though:
She's all, "you mean this old thing?!"
