You is right! Polo shirt, preferably pink or green with a sweater tied around your shoulders and a wide headband. Done!
I have a Trick Tray on the 28th. Waiting to see what broadway show our table is this year.
I recall my Jordache Jeans, Pink Polo and topsiders. Also, white K-Swiss!
My friend had the same outfit with his burgundy Member's Only jacket.
(lowers head in shame).
You can always watch Fast Times at Ridgemont High for ideas...
I wanna go! I had to pass on one on Saturday, because I had a wedding to go to. I was bummed.

I was the queen of the prep look back then.
I had espadrilles in every color of the rainbow.
I also had quite a collection of Lilly Pullitzer shifts.
RIP Lillly!

" I was the queen of the prep look back then. "
So was I.
I used to go to the Downtown LA Fashion Mart looking for deals on Espadrilles.
And I had a friend who got discounted Polo shirts.
The shame, the shame.

I've rarely followed fashion trends. Was definitely not the preppie type nor did I wear leg warmers. And I've never had enough hair to do that teased up hair thing. And it wasn't just a Jersey thing...maybe an East Coast thing, but we weren't alone.
And someone posted a RIP about that Pulitzer lady. I had to Google, and still had no idea who she was.

Seriously easy costume ... polo shirt with popped collar, add-a-beads or pearls, sweater around shoulders, headband and a name tag that says, "Hi my name is Muffy". Done. I'll split the tricky tray win with you. You're welcome.

The 'prep look', for me, wasn't a trend.
It was the way people dressed where I grew up.
I still wear headbands and throw a sweater around my shoulders...
I consider it 'classic'.
(but I drew the line at the popped collar... never caved!)
its always wierd to see MJ as an African American LOL
I really wish I could wear some of the garb I got for Boob's party. Maybe they'll do a 60's theme another time.

'Morning, everyone! Got slammed with work yesterday. You'd never know we were closed for a week - made up for it in 12 hours.
Beautiful weather today - almost too hot later today and tomorrow. Isn't Spring supposed to be a gentle transition period? One week it's in the 20s at night, the next week it's in the mid 80s. Crazy stuff. At least the Cherry Blossoms have FINALLY popped open - 2 weeks late.
G'mornin'
It's supposed to get near 80 here today. I may have to break the fashion rules and break out the linen.
Just for today.
Maybe.

I had no idea a tricky tray was a bag auction until I just Googled it.
Growing up they were called Chinese Auctions, but now to be "politically" correct we call them Tricky Tray.
Which I find funny, because tricky tray sounds more asian offensive to me than chinese auction.
