Mooney - that is incredible. A teacher at a local high school committed suicide. He was being investigated for improper texts.
RAIN RAIN RAIN. The kids are now in hour three of their commute to school, I should have kept them home. I94 is CLOSED. My yard has 4 inches of standing water! Basement seeping, but no real water yet!
"I'm sure Bridezilla is lurking"
And knitting my name, yet again, into that by now humongous scarf.
We moved back to our "new" old digs on Monday, mostly unpacked, not quite. A major outage at a data center knocked a lot of our servers, websites out of commission from Sunday through today. Some are still impacted. Of course, one I've needed to get in all week is one on the blink still. I'm doing someone else's job Wed thru Friday this week, so I've got three laptops going. It's been a hellish week. And not only is there internet issues here, I haven't had internet at home for almost two weeks. It was sporadic the weekend of the wedding (4/6), was up long enough for me to upload pics to FB and play a little that Sunday night, but it's been down for good since that Monday. I've put a new splitter, tried out a new modem and now cable is coming on Sunday. With my work schedule, I couldn't get them there sooner.
So, I read back to see why I was being congratulated. Contrary to popular belief, I don't always read back. Reception at a tricky tray...interesting.
Since everyone seems to have checked in, I'll hazard a wild (not really) guess Boob's is talking about me. I didn't see a FB post about the anniversary. On a good day, I don't always see what people post depending on what the newsfeed decides I need to see. It's even worse when checking from my phone, which is all I've had to use. I do know it doesn't seem to filter out all the cutesy animal pics and OH I AM WOMAN, HEAR ME ROAR, eCards that get posted ad nauseum, too. Again, contrary to popular belief, I don't stalk people's FB pages. But, since I sent a text just like I did last year, I can't see where not sending well wishes on FB would matter. Apparently, it does.
EDIT: Since I checked dthe thread to see if new posts were made while I was typing. Wow...just wow.

Good morning, kids.
Wow, a lot to wake up to! Hoping that all of my hundreds of Boston area family members and my friends stay safe today.

G'morning.
Wow, just wow.
Hoping they catch this guy before anyone else dies.
One of my Facebook "connections" ( I can't really call this person a friend as his/her politics are diametrically opposed to mine ) just posted this:
"Sorry David Sirota of Salon - you racist bigot who wanted the Boston Bomber to be a "white guy" - but surprise surprise it was another Muslim Terrorist Jihadist."
How is his/her comment not as racist? I really don't understand.

As I said on SOMMS's FB page, my mom grew up on the street where the gun battle took place. We used to spend Christmases and a few weeks each summer in Watertown. As my husband said this morning, "Who the hell runs TO Watertown?"
Half day for me at work today. The FIOS repairman is due at my house between noon and 5:00pm. What do you want to bet he arrives at 4:59pm?
My mom was born in Cambridge and I have several relatives in Newton. We "summered" there as well.
I lived in Back Bay and worked in Quincy for a long term project in six month stints for two consecutive years. Love Boston. It reminds me of the East Coast version of SF (or SF is the West Coast version of Boston). A walkable city so full of history. And, not very friendly to cars.
You don't mess with Boston - it puts Texas to shame.
I only drove through Boston once because I got lost driving home from a wedding in Nantucket.

Cleaned the house all morning including oven and fridge.
Paying firm bills. Mrs. Brd. finishing a 50 hour week, so a little bubbly will be in order tonight!
G'morning.
Good morning peeps! I need a weekend free to get things done around the house. Outside mainly. Plants are arriving, but I still need to till the garden before they can be planted. Hopefully this Saturday will be warmer and I can get them all planted.
I can't wait for this day to end. I found out on Friday that we will be letting one of my staff go today. The other will be informed he has until Friday to clean things up. It looks like I start commuting back into the City tomorrow! They really are clueless around here. I have so much to clean and pack up. I couldn't do any of it on Friday because it would have tipped my staff off. My nerves!!!!
