Geez,Boobs, I hope there's a bar near your office. The kind that opens at 10:00am.
Moony, a bottle of Scotch would be nice right about now.

Yes.
The guy being let go dug his own grave. He was warned many times, especially on his tardiness which he never corrected. I still feel bad with anyone losing their job in this economy.
I just got a reprieve that I won't have to report to the NY office until next Monday. They want me here supervising the 1 staff member I have on until Friday. Dammit I just spent $120 for a 10 trip bus pass. Oh well.
Come to Casa YWIW, I still have a nice stash of single malt from Scotland, and some really yummy gin for those who don't like Scotch. (Botanist - I found it while in Bruichladdich - great on the rocks with a slice of cucumber, tastier than Hendricks).
Busy weekend. Family Trust stuff on Saturday, and then trying to get my new (non Mac) computer up to date. I looked at the Mac, but for objective reasons (no 15", no keypad on laptop, issues with interfacing with VPN), I went with an HP. New computer is pretty and fast, but iTunes is a stubborn ratbastard!
Happy Monday - slipping into HIPAA hell this morning.

If I am drinking it on the rocks, I usually add a slice or two of cucumber for some of the lighter tasting gins (Hendricks, Botanist). For some of the heavier tasting gins, a martini olive (Bombay Sapphire.)
But, that's just me.
And usually, there is not too much actual jin in the glass if it is on the rocks.

I took a mental health day today. I had been contemplating the beginning of last week, and by Wednesday afternoon, I'd made up my mind.
Internet at home is up and running again. Yay!
Boobs, probably a good thing you haven't had time to plant. We still had frost warnings for last night. And I can't wait to hear how it goes today with the firing. Ugh.
Feel better, Somms!!

Y, there is a local gin here. Stunningly tasty! LOVE IT!
Boobs - sounds sucky - come fire the mouse secretary - she is late again. (At hospital - 10:1 she was at casino late!)
Tasty
Well, it's sort of official: one of our own, the inimitable little leprechaun VMLinnie, is making his West End debut in a big new musical this fall. Can't say what show or role yet, but how exciting is this!?!

'Morning kids. At work; we'll see how long I last.
Feel better, SOMMS!
Sorry to hear about the work crap, Boobs. People keep getting stupider by the day!

Tink! Your flight actually took off and landed! Was it the right airport?
Boobs - how did things go yesterday? Is there an echo in your office yet? Did HC pack a bottle with your lunch?
G'morning.
No voice today. Sort of a blessing in disguise -- I won't be able to talk to anyone at the "must attend" department meeting today. One of two "must attends" this week.
Pray it lasts through Thursday.
What an ordeal, but luckily it was not stuck in the actual plane like people the day before. Finally got in the air around 10ish and in NYC around 12:30 and through my door around 2. 12 hours after I walked into Miami airport, lol. I really hope they have their crap together in 3 weeks or I'm booking a car and driving back!

Hi.
Heading to Chicago (again) today. Think I need to pad my time for extra-long security lines. Good times.
Wishing everyone a great week. Hope everyone stays healthy, happy and that work doesn't do too much to interfere with life!!

You can regale us with stories as you patiently wait in the airports.

Yes. It does.
Landed after long delays (not due to lines, but due to weather-related equipment delays).
Am now sitting in sweat pants and a t-shirt in my hotel room, having ordered a room service club sandwich (and wine), and am spending some seriously-needed down time with the TV, my laptop and a couple of good magazines I picked up in the airport.
Yes, I have work to do, but, it will just have to wait.
Cheers.

Am I wrong in thinking that Addy should have had a Big Mac and a Shamrock Shake waiting for her in her room?
'Morning! Another crazy day here. Big blow up between administrators here yesterday (I stayed on the fringes)so everyone is walking on eggshells this morning. Ah, human foibles - gotta love it.
Yet another of my contemporaries (started the same day I did) just announced his retirement in June. Hmmmmmm.
