Can The Adults Please Smoke? 37 and Looking Damn Fine..... — Page 97

It is humid here in SoCal, and I don't do humid well... that is why I live here (or one of the reasons).
Adults, pray for me - I am dipping my toe back into the dating pool - this is something worthy of a sitcom episode. Let's hope I don't get too bored with someone and decide to insult them when I just am done with their stupid ... I really don't do stupid well.
Happy Tuesday Adults.
Moony, how is your arm?
Posted: 6/24/14 at 10:16am
Arm is SO much better after the CORRECT diagnosis and week 1 of steroid treatments. I returned to OT this morning for what I hope will be the end of this 6 month mess. Here's how I'm measuring success: At the Tony Awards, I couldn't clap my hands together since the right hand was immobilized. I look forward to being able to applaud Boobs on Sunday afternoon!

Mooney - what was the diagnosis?

I start tapering off this week.

YOU, good luck with the dating. You never know who you'll meet out there. It's kind of like that Italian ice we used to buy as kids off the truck. You had to eat it all to get to the gumball at the bottom. It takes time to get to the gumball, but it's well worth the time and effort. HC is proof.
Addy, I know you'll be there in spirit cheering me on.
Moony, if you still can't clap by Sunday just yell

Wish I could be there to give a Standing O for Boobs. No, I have the great joy in freezing to death in a mid-Winter storm-a-thon, instead. Blah! Oh, I would tell you to break a leg, dear Boobs. But, the last person I said it to, did...!
Oh, and we'll done to our gorgeous, healthy, trim, taut and terrific Brd! Atta boy!

Blue line shut down - 2 hour commute, but pleasant day and always interesting to be waiting for the bus with 200 people.

Down at least 40 pounds (I think). Back to where I was about 12 years ago until I hit one nasty valley.

But honestly, I think I was just ready to put some stuff down and (excuse the reference) let it go. It has never been this easy for me to lose weight, and for some reason, this time is different. I did this before and kept it off for about 10 years, then fell into the nasty valley I just climbed out of. I have not had cravings or the urge to cheat. I just don't want it. When in NY, I pretty much stuck to it. There are some protein bars that I use in a pinch if I cannot find anything healthy to eat which are very low in sugar.
I have another month or two to go to get off the last bit, and then the real challenge will be keeping it all off. And, buying clothes that fit. The shirts I can live with. The clown pants are getting a little annoying.

The sugar was easier to give up than I had feared and I don't eat much red meat at all anyway. i do love my wheat, but I've been sticking to pumpernickel bread (very low on the glycemic index) and not much of it. Not a drinker (except in NYC - go figure)so that doesn't bother me at all. But that exercise regimen - how do you find the time? I've been good about walking for 15-20 minutes after lunch and a half hour after dinner, but that's it.
We took the departing principal out to lunch today, so much of the above good habits fell by the wayside......

I would do it in the morning, but for better or worse, my pores love to open up, and it is better not to workout when I to apply makeup in the near future. And, my water bill has gone up between all of the extra laundry and showers!
I have never been a big sugar person, and my caloric intake was never huge and I was active, so I was at a loss as to why stuff was sticking to me. Like I said, something is different this time, and for me, I think there is a psychological component to all of this.
The hardest part was drinking iced tea when one business trips on an expense account! For the record, I did have one glass of wine at my friends wedding to toast the couple.
