Morning Adults - I will just have to fangirl from afar!
Again, I am hoping someone preserves this performance for immortality.

^ yes, please!
Wearing the red, white and blue today. Go USA!
Methinks workplace production will come to a screeching halt around noon (EST). Can't wait! The team is joining me in my office to watch on my larger-screen TV. If they behave, I'll treat them to pizza.
May I just say how much I enjoy TBT on FB. I have to dig out some selections for the weeks to come.
Happy Thursday. Cheers!

Never got into TBT. And I get even more turned off by my friends that post TBT pics All. Damn. Day. They're mostly the under 35 crowd that do that.
I hope you aren't counting on me to preserve a performance. I don't have anything to preserve it with!

I hope the internet can handle all of the streaming of the game. We actually do not have have a TV in our firm.
I will spare all of you my rant, but if I did it would involve C20's lost wallet and the fact that my cashcard is contained therein!
GO USA!

Yipes! You were brave to let her have your card to begin with! It's not a problem to have it canceled, though. They'll give you a new, temporary one in the meantime (says the woman to had to replace hers TWICE in 2 months).
Just saw a large TV being wheeled down the hallway. Apparently, there will be a lunchtime viewing party.

Hey all!
YWIW - I am so happy to hear about these life changes!!!!!! :) :) So inspiring, you are!
Moony - YAY! That is great news! Sorry you had to go through 6 months of ordeal to get there.
Can't wait to see everyone on Sunday!
Not much to report here - Almost done with first week at the new job. It's an ok company. So different in culture than the last place, but I think it will be fine. 1/3 less work for 1/3 more pay. I'll find a way to manage lol. Just a different routine now so gotta get adjusted. One Baby shower on Saturday and then a wedding in two weeks and I'm done. Finally get my life back. I added - in less than 1 year, I have put out (or will have as of two weeks from now) over $4k between weddings and babies. I'm done.
Happy weekend everyone!

Ugh, Tink. That's cause you have that added nonsense of bachlorette parties these days. And if it's not nearby, the added expense of hotel. Did you happen to notice your first posting about the new job a page or two back?

Frisky? Who's getting frisky in here? And with whom?
The wedding industrial complex is out of control. So much hype and expense - for innocent bystanders!

I don't even want to think about how much I shelled out. I was a bridesmaid 17 times.
I did readings and sang in weddings.
And am Godmother multiple times over.
Add in the showers, parties and all the travel... I see a few years of retirement I could have enjoyed.
ALL great honors, though. I wouldn't have changed it for the world.
(Some of the dresses? Absolutely. But the friendships? Never.)
Happy Friday.
I'll be thinking of everyone this weekend.
Mom is having another surgical procedure this weekend (Saturday), so I will be in CT with her. I so wish I could enjoy the Framily celebrations with you on Sunday. I'll be with you in spirit.
Tink, it takes a while to settle into a new work routine. Hope the work is rewarding. Any increased pay seems like a win to me!
Here's to a healthy and happy weekend for all. And a fab birthday celebration for one Mr. Boobs. I'll be eating chocolate in his honor.

I am at the age when there are few weddings. My kid's friends are not yet getting married. The first set of nieces and nephews are married, the next set in a few years!
Tink - nice 1/3 more pay! $$$
Addy, praying for your mother!!!!!!
BB - break a leg!
Saw Spelling Bee again - BORING! The guest spellers were just idiots!
Taking Mrs. Brd to the Club for dinner. Need to drop the membership - out of my $$ league. Best Summer View in the city!

Brd - when I was in Glenview for that wedding last summer, the father of the bride was a member of THREE clubs! The MoB was complaining about how hard it was to choose which club to use as the reception site. Can you imagine paying membership to three clubs? When the hell would you have time to actually use the facilities??? They chose the one with the best view of Lake Michigan. Some people have more money than they know what to do with....

Moony, so true!
I've had one friend's son's wedding, but am still a few years away from most the 'second generation' weddings. My niece may be in a couple of years. She and her boyfriend are creating a life together, so I'll look forward to that happy event, when it happens.
My parents belonged to a club, but we dropped Mom's membership to a social membership after my Dad passed away. She still really enjoys going there for dinner, and seeing her lifelong friends, so it's worth it. Every time I think about a club membership, I balk at the expense. I don't think I would use it enough to warrant the fees, etc. with my schedule.
Enjoy the views at dinner, brd!

Mooney - that is a whole other world up north (but the kids all have rich north shore friends from the high school.) I laugh when the son of millionaires goes down the rickety stairs to the basement. In some ways high school can be the economic equalizer. Michael Jordan's sons attended the same graduation with no fanfare!
My Club is referenced in Devil in the White City. Best New Year's Day party in the city!

I belonged to a club years ago when I played tennis in HS. I always felt like an outsider - Heck, even the piano at Nordstrom's use to make me nervous. I have a feeling I was a peasant in a previous life and cannot ever quite get comfortable with unnecessary displays of wealth.
The wedding I went to a few weeks ago was fabulous - but it was low key, relatively inexpensive, and for friends my age. They did not need stuff, just wanted to celebrate with friends and family. And, since their friends run the whole economic spectrum, they went with something that could be really affordable if you were up for camping. For those of us with a bit of disposable income, there was a lovely hotel.
Happy Friday Adults. Lots of work to do, and a wee bit under the weather. So, I think I may take it a bit easy this weekend. About another 15 pounds to go and then I think I am done. I took my first selfie yesterday to show my sisters my progress, and I look a wee bit deranged. Maybe I was a photo shy peasant in a previous life.
Enjoy the Club Brd!
Addy, I hope the weekend with your mom goes as planned. I will be thinking good thoughts for the both of you.
Moony - continue on the road to recovery!
Girly - take pics for the rest of us.
Tink - enjoy everything - I am living a bit vicariously through you!

Y - I agree. I am a hick from Kansas and I still marvel at Chicago architecture and I have been here for 29 years! OMG that means I have been with Mrs. Brd for 27 years! That is freaky!
Excellent on your weight. I weighed 171 today - almost freaked me out!

girly I did see, lol.
I am very happy to be a part of all of these events, and so thankful it all hit now as opposed to a few years ago when budgets were much tighter. But still think it's absurd.
happy thoughts for Addys mom!
