"I just thought you'd have fun watching."
Uh, huh.
Almost as much fun as I would have watching someone ELSE sleep with Hugh Jackman.

Does the *sigh* mean that you're not sure you've been communicating effectively with the 'support staff'?

Scrappy, you must post and admit that my song was obscure, funny and clever. (I now know that you cannot be a day under 40 if you know that song!)
C11 and I saw Million Dollar Quartet, nice show. I am not really a fan of the music era of D2 and Q, but I enjoyed it. It is coming to NY soon.
In the AM I have to go to this awful snotty school to see C11's team lose! Arghhhhhhh.
Q, that sounds relatively accurate.

Um, WHAT?!? I've known you like to poke fun at ages, brd, but we're not REALLY that much older than YOU are!
But, as I've recently been made aware that crap like RENT separates us, I guess I'll let it pass
And, Shira, "relatively accurate" sounds like 'spin' to me . . .
Q, do you want to go in on a hit man with me and Girly?

Sigh. I don't know any of those songs. Another generation gap and this time I'm on the old side. I'll just head off to Bloomies and see if there's a sale on orthopedic shoes.
Go with Taryn Rose. As fashionable as you can get for orthopedics, Moony!
If anyone remembers "Little Willie" from their childhood, or remember "Afternoon Delight" before they knew what it was really about, they get some poprocks and wax sodas.

*ignores brd*
Little Willy Willy won't, go home, but you can't push Willy round, Willy won't go. Try telling everybody but oh no, Little Willy Willy won't, go home.
Sky Rockets in flight...afternoon delight.

Girly wins the prize. Just don't eat your poprocks while drinking the coke, because you know, it can cause your stomach to blow up! (And, I cannot figure out for the life of me how I can still remember that damn Little Willy line in my head well after 30 years!)
I pulled it from my memory banks. Sad.

I have a vivid memory of being at a local park, playing caroms (which was like pool but with checker pieces) and singing that song with friends. It is amazing what memories music triggers.

Wow - I had that game! Haven't thought of it in years. Weren't the pieces kind of like little napkin rings, or were they solid in the center? And weren't they red and green?
Hey, that looks like fun!

That's very close to the one I had! It was my introduction to games similar to billiards.
Ask Tink, Shamey and DD how that turned out

(For the record, BWG is ignored until she admits that my song was a brilliant example of BWW satire that will likely be remembered as second in fame only to the Band Camp Thread!)
Y, I jsut have to one up you, I actually saw the Starland Vocal Band at a state fair in either 1979 or 1980.
Also, "We had joy, we had fun, we had seasons in the sun. . ." Now that is a bad 70's song!
And, yes Q I am only a few years younger than you!
Stupid day in B-Ball. C11's team lost to team that they crushed in the regular season, but alas 35 games later the season is over! Singing, and then working a fund raiser all day!
Season's in the Sun - God that was up there with One Tin Soldier and the theme from Mash.
I remember being in either grade school or Jr. High and teaching myself One Tin Soldier and the theme from Mash and then later, Color My World by Chicago.
But, to bring this all together, I do remember being at my neighbor's house playing pool when he tried to explain to me what Afternoon Delight really meant! (He had older brothers and sisters).
I LOVE listening to the 70's music I have on the Pod, and yes, Seasons In The Sun is on there, as is One Tin Soldier.

The 70's eh? I hear that was a good time for music.
