By the way, Besty pretty much sums up exactly how I feel about this year's Oscars in his post on the thread "Oscar: That was an awards show?"
Morning, Moony!
My guests arrived. Late. So I stayed home and didn't attend the party that I had been planning to attend. When I left this morning the last thing I did was remove a wet towel from my living room couch. This is going to be a VERY long week.
And, friends I've shared this with and I are all very interested to see if there is any sort of a 'hostess' gift or expression of gratitude at any point. I'm betting not. (Not that I need/want anything - but am curious to know if these kids think beyond their own world...)

Yes. Kids who think they're adults. Worst combination ever.
I had to put my foot down last night when it was suggested that they have 'people over' Tuesday night to celebrate the first part of the program being over...
I'm sorry.

I just love that two of the most beautiful, radiant, SEXY women there last night are both in their 60's - Streep and Mirren. Let's hear it for the ADULTS!
And I think Kate Winslet needs to open a finishing school for every single young American performer.
Agree, Q.

I join Addy in agreement!
Addy - un-fing-believable. Even for college kids.
I think it's a good thing I have plans every night this week. While it probably means there will be more damage due to wet towels and goodness-knows-what-else, it's best if I don't witness it.
I'll just take a deep breath and clean up after then when they leave. Which WILL be Friday. The other suggestion that they stay and enjoy NY for the weekend was quickly met with the fact that they would have to stay elsewhere.
Monday. Counting down the days until Friday...
Who the heck was the woman who pulled a Kanye West? How rude was that????
Boobs, I have to re-watch that part. I missed the beginning of it, and was so confused! The poor guy!

Apparently, she was the producer of the film that one, while the man was the director. In every other similar situation, they give the award to the producer, and she felt they slighted her in favor of him because of sexism.
I think the people who made the decision had previously met her.
If she ever cuts in front of me in line at Starbucks again, well, you know what will happen...
Deet...she's been warned! I'm videoing this one!

Addy, when I stay with friends if I don't bring a gift (which I often do), I do insist on taking them out to dinner or some other thank you.
She was one of the folks involved with the film, and there is a long-standing dispute between the two.
Here is the dirt:

Q, they are gorgeous.
YWIW, I do the same...
That's interesting about the conflict between the two. Such drama!

Sigh. I had hoped that Namo and Rath would have reconciled by now, but sadly their differences were aired on live TV.
Moony, I love you! ^^^^^
But...but...it was a documentary all about Rath afterall.

I should not have laughed so hard at that - Moony wins.

Oh course many will be surprised to learn that Rath is a black man.

While no one will be surprised that the other is Namo.
Namo is a loud white woman? Who knew?
