Hey, Deet!
Somms has such wonderful domestic advice.
That's what I do when mine does that. Beat him with his own tools.

Hey, Hep
I was looking at pictures of Melbourne last evening - what a beautiful city!
We like it, Q. It is an easy city in which to live. Today, it is a wet city. We have rain! I'm so happy.
Hey Hep. I have never been to Australia, but my mom just got back and raved.
For D2:
Hey Q, I hope all is well with you (and that rhymes!)
Those too, You. (also rhymes!)
But J2 is a big fan of "Swiffer Technology" as he calls it. I love SOMMS' suggestion for that very reason. And, as he said, it's less likely to leave any marks.
Well I'm off to meet said "better half" for dinner. See y'all later!

YWIW - we are fine! I'm still kind of building my energy back up from the weeks before, but everything is great. I'm bummed that we're not going to be in California when D2 and J2 are - I want to meet you all for lunch, too
Ah, to be in the company of all these marvelous rhymers.
I'm glad your Mother enjoyed her trip, YWIW. Did she have a favorite area?

Hep - do they have dinner cruises on the Yarra River? I also want to go to the Royal Botanic Gardens!
She thought the Barrier Reef was amazing.
She also spent some time in NZ, and loved that as well. The trip was more physically challenging that she would have like. Otherwise, she really had a great time.
Greetings.
Q - That sounds AMAZING. I wanna eat with Paula Dean. I might die, but it would be worth it!
Am I sensing a YWIW/Q meetup? I could crash that...
Well, it is more a YWIW D2 meetup. But, we could definitely arrange the other.
Today feels like a holiday - a long business lunch with people I like, and then leaving at 5:00 for a hair cut and color. Gonna wash that gray right outta my hair!
Shira, how did all of your interviews go?
Oooh, I like that too!
My interview yesterday was incredible. The director of the program asked me to send him some people I'd like to work with and why - so I did, and I think I've made a great impression, especially being that they haven't even started looking at applications yet! I'm also meeting with another professor tomorrow who specializes in neuroscience and food, and I'm extremely excited about it.

Hey, Shira - I'm actually headed out of town for awhile. Again.
And YWIW, that's what ALL of your days should be like!
Again? *sniffle* Can I see you when I get back?
YWIW - Yes, everyday should be so wonderful as yours and mine today I had a splendid day of foodie-ness and friendship. And I plan on kicking a$$. I'm just so eager to learn, it's actually somewhat sickening sometimes.
Q, the Royal Botanic Gardens are suffering at the moment. We are in a rather painful drought. Water use is restricted. So, parks and gardens are not at their best.
Melbourne is a foodie place. There are many fine restaurants in town such as The Press Club, Vue du Monde, est est est, Oyster etc. Some of the finest meals in the country are actually found in Regional Victoria. One I highly recommend is the Royal Mail in Dunkeld, a town nestled at the foot of the Grampians, about an hour to the West of Melbourne. It is worth the effort. Think of a superlative and it will apply to the Royal Mail. Q, while there are dinner cruises and party boats on the Yarra, I believe most are for group hire rather than floating restaurants. I believe there are better ways to see the river.

Food is always a good thing!
Is the water shortage causing them to rethink what kind of plantings are used? That's a big movement here in the southwest US.
They took out my front lawn and replaced it with drought resistant plants. Bleech.
Have a great evening adults.
Q, yes. The mass plantings and herbacious borders have been replaced with native grasses or bushes. Plants native to the area are naturally drought-resistant. We have an extremely dry continent.
Sorry about the lawn, YWIW.
YWIW, that doesn't sound fun.
Hep - that's interesting. Drought-resistant. I never really viewed Oz as a desert, but why not?
I'm just happy for framily right now.

"We have an extremely dry continent."
Having found my way to the driest part of our little corner, that's appealing.
Well, that and the fact that it's not the U.S. - although, you all do deal with a lot of the same nonsense (at least according to what I read.)
Mornin'
and, for Girly:
Tanks, Deet!
Morning kiddles.

Tinfoil...The Terrorizing Terminator
Morning peeps! Happy Friday! Looks like the snow is heading our way. I have to remember to stop and pick up popcorn on the way home to go with the movies I will be watching all weekend.
