I just got sucked into True Blood. I have read the books, and cannot resist a hunky man in humid climates with very little clothes...
And, there was a promo for two months free and then 8 bucks a month.
Welcome back home Addy.
YWIW, sounds like a blast! I haven't gotten into it, mainly because I lack Showtime, but I hear it's fantastic.

Off to participate in a Cancer Walk this morning, and then we have a friend's production of CAROUSEL this evening (which I have never seen.)
Hope everyone is peaceful and happy - and that Addy sleeps all day!

Happy Tony Sunday!!
It's been an action-packed weekend, so far, and the best is yet to come!
Although my guest and I enjoyed the Saturday evening part of the weekend festivities SO MUCH. We loved, Loved, LOVED "La Cage". (I have a few criticisms, but, really and truly love that show and this production of it! I think it needs to be a group event!)
Oh, and, we had an Antonio Banderas sighting! He and his very tall wife were seated in the row in front of us. Dreamy!
More reports to come.
The best of times is now... I just adore that song!

Enjoy the Tonys, everyone - especially those who are actually attending.
We'll watch, but mostly out of tradition. Honestly, my true enjoyment is probably going to be checking in on the Main Board to look for potential meltdowns.
I agree q. Its gonna be fun
Out of tradition, I will not be watching tonight. I'll catch up tomorrow.
Friday night's show (Weimar band/cabaret act) was amazing. Boobs - I neglected to mention Angie Louise is the lead singer! She's amazing. Surprisingly, I had a great time at the punk concert last night too. The band was great fun. The hike was nice ... simple but great for the first one of the year.
Today I'm cleaning, and tonight covering karaoke hosting duties for the traveling jS.
Have fun at/watching the Tonys.
Did the main board survive last night?
Mornin', Peeps!
I haven't ventured over there yet.
I haven't seen any of the nominated shows, but to those who have, what did you think of the results?
The only big winner I've seen was CZJ in A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC, although I will be seeing LA CAGE in a couple of weeks!
Now I have to talk about Lea Michele or I'll burst.
That was the most blatantly desperate attempt to snag a role I've ever seen, and if Bartlett Sher does cast her we'll know he's lost his mojo. The only place she should EVER be allowed to attempt that role is in the Wilton Community Playhouse, where her performance would be viewed as a novel attempt at verisimilitude.
The boards were very quite -- boring in fact. Even Harris and the steaks didn't have a party.
Morning!
I haven't seen any of the shows either but here are my thoughts:
- Wasn't the opening number supposed to be some flashy "Popular showtunes" adventure, but instead it was just numbers from the shows.... I could have missed a memo, but otherwise, other than the beginning with Sean & the piano, pretty lackluster.
- Why did they give Scarlett like 8 years to talk but others 2 seconds? (I only like it because any time they cut to her in the audience I got both Ryan and Matt in one camera shot!!! heaven!)
- Performances were blah to people who have never seen the shows. I actually made my bar patrons watch it and while there was a lot of skepticism (remember this is an American Legion of all retired Vets) they were pretty open to it except saying everything looked boring.
- OK, I LOVED Matt's performance and was squealing like a little girl BUT it was just so randomly placed in the broadcast. Lea - good but eh. Matt was dreamy, yummy, and just :) Although a little out of breath.
- The production of the broadcast was horrible as usual. So many missed cues, mic issues, etc.
- Sean was a cute host. No NPH but still fun.
- American Idiot performance - I really didn't like it. The more I see of promotional performances makes me want to see it less (though for my love of green day I might one day).
Well, I'm off to have my morning coffee with a very special, beloved member of the framily.
See y'all later.
Oh, and Tink: I warned Shira about keeping away from Matt. I told her you'd cut her.
smart man, D2, smart man! :) love you!
I don't claim to know much about anything, but I was pretty impressed with Lea's performance.
Although, there's no question Idina would've done it better. :-P
I guess for me it was that we'd already seen it or heard it a thousand times in the past few months. Would've been nice for her to do something else. I was SOOOOO happy to see Matt do something new, and for it to be that song was just !!!!! I purposely did not let myself get spoiled beforehand so it was a shock!
So Pinky, since Saturday was a tie game, who buys who dinner? Boobs or the girl? lol
LOL! We're gonna go dutch.
Her sister was funny though. She jumped in on the bet and then after the match, sent me a message on FB saying that she'd buy me one chip and half a fish for that performance.
I thought Matt was awesome and I can't blame him for being out of breath, but I didn't like the song choice.
lol pinky, too funny! I was thinking about you guys while watching the game.
It worked out pretty well, but our broadcast was 10 seconds behind hers. That got annoying at times. Her reaction gave the goals away before I saw them. LOL!

Morning.
For the record, if anyone ever wants to completely send me over the edge, here's all you have to do: Tie me to a theater seat, and force me to watch American Idiot, Fela! and Everyday Rapture in never-ending repertory.
