My mom
1) lives a thousand miles away
2) doesn't drink beer
3) neither do I
All's well.
But, Moony, what do you plan on drinking when you join Addy, Tink and I on our bar hopping adventure?
Oh Addy is going to bar hop with us too? Woohoo! This is getting more fun by the minute!!

Tink - many moons ago, I was working in a nightclub hosting and performing in a drag show. I hid it from my mother - and she got a little suspicious when my boyfriend and I kept cancelling Saturday dinners (because I had to work at the club) so one night she point blank asked. I explained what I was doing, hesitantly, and she said" please pass the catsup".
A few weeks later my phone rang, and it was her. She asked to talk to my BF Gary, and when he hung up he looked at me, said "I am supposed to pick your mom up Saturday night - she is coming to your show".
That Saturday, as I was finishing my make-up in the dressing room - Gary came in to let me know that my mom was in the house. So - I went out to the bar to get a drink, and there she was having a 7&7. I looked at her - she looked at me - she smiled, and I smiled. She sipped her drink, I looked at her again, she smiled - this time I said "Jesus Christ Ma - aren't you even gonna say HI?".
After that night, she was a regular at the club - and brought many of her friends as well!
That was a great relationship.
Oh, Addy can pound beers with the best of them, Tink!
She's gonna kill me for saying that though.
Edit: That is fantastic story, Cheeze! And, so fitting for Fantastic Fourteen!

No beers or chunky martinis.
Mojitos or margaritas.
Cheeze - That is AWESOME!!! My mom is a bartender at the local American Legion, so when I turned 21, I stopped by and made her serve me, lol. She would never go to a bar/club, but my best friend's mom would in a heart beat!!
Hahahaha! Come on, Moony, it's not like the texture of the chunky martini is that different from a mojito anyway!

Very cool Tink!
I drink some crazy sh*t, but I won't even do a chunky martini!!!
However, I hope you ladies are prepared for my Jager-bomb obsession!!

Cheeze - love the story and love your mom!
Shamey - alcoholic drinks should never change into different life forms. It ain't right, I tell you.
Yeah, I have to agree with you there. When the waiter serves your drink with a straw and has to bring you a spoon, that's a problem.
All of this is making me thirsty... I think this will please us all!

Thanks Moonie! She was quite a lady!
What is a "chunky" Martini?...(I am askeered of the answer...)
One of SF's new bars has something called "Trailer Tea" -
"Trailer Tea" is described as a "Long Island Iced Tea with Red Bull and less class."
A chunky martini is the result of really crappy, cheap alcohol being mixed with cream and transforming into a thick nasty mess in a martini glass. It's a specialty at Vintage.
On that note, I'm outta here. See ya'll later.
