It's difficult for me here in California because the public high schools where I grew up were phenomenal - my senior year essentially doubled as my freshman year of college (credited.)

What exists here is . . . not the same.

I went to Catholic School Pre K - 8th grade, so I was allowed to go to the public high school, lol. Luckily, we are a small suburban area, so the school was nice, great teachers, no real drama or trouble. I loved it. I think my graduating class was maybe 100-120 kids.

If nothing changes too much, I would have no problem sending my future offspring there.

Here it is all economics. The wealthy suburbs have excellent schools. The city schools are improving. The rural schools are lacking. Follow the $$$ and you get a better school

Miss P and her family were kind enough to treat me to dinner and "Hairspray" last night for a late birthday gift. It was great fun! The movie reminded me of how much I loved the show in NY.

Pretty much my life for the next while. And I don't mind in the least.

My other favorite will likely be "BLT Sandwich, hold the bread".

Just got back from taking Dad and Step Mom to the airport. The NJ Turnpike is no fun at 4:30am. Time to attempt to get some more sleep. Once I wake up, my mother already has a list of "To Do's" for me, since I barely saw her all week. Oy!
