He's denied it in the past, but the dire situation of his campaign calls for a 'game changer'. It wouldn't surprise me at all if McCain made a one-term commitment real soon.
For some reason I always thought that it was common knowledge that if elected, McCain would only serve one term.
The voters are about to give McCain a NO-term pledge, and rightfully so.

Absolutely not. That would be an admission of weakness on McCain's part, and that will simply never happen.
Hah, why would McCain make a one term pledge? Voters already don't trust him to handle the economic crisis.
I'm with Roscoe...it also subtly puts out the message that McCain knows he's way too old, which wouldn't happen.

I think he should make at least a half-term pledge, then have Palin pick up with a 2 1/2 term pledge.
But I agree with those above that a one term pledge is admission of weakness. But we already know that.
