It was down for a half hour and then funky for another 10 minutes.
I've been working , so I missed the downtime. I hate when that happens. I always think a major meltdown is happening, and I'm missing it!

I'm too broke to own a champagne glass. I do have a straw, though.
*slurp*
I figure, if I'm going broke, I'm going down in style...
I have a set, Moony. Left over from the good old days. What's mine is yours. We Adults are all in this together!

You've come to the right place!

I always prefer to think of my flute as half full rather than half empty. But what I really prefer is to have it filled to the top.
With refills!

With the current state of things.....FREQUENT refills!
***Pops in to say 'hello' to the Adults***
I'll refill to that!
No refills, just give me the bottle.

Most people who know me know that I tend to look at silver linings (what the TinMan refers to as my 'cup is over-flowing' crap )
But, my work involves private financial investment, and I have access to individual portfolios from many places, configured in many ways. And what I'm watching is actually pretty disturbing - especially the ones which are set up for mostly conservative international investments (which ostensibly provides more stable and long-term security.) Everything, everywhere is taking a hit - including us.
The damage to retirement monies is, of course, very disturbing - ESPECIALLY if you're already retired and have been out of the work force for awhile. There's a feeling of watching a rising tide, and having no access to a boat - or even a life-preserver
SOOOOOOO - fill me up, and cheers all around, dammit!
Greetings. *passes out*
...I don't like atoning.
Shira, hope you are having an easy fast.
I'm with Tink. I'll take a bottle!
And Shira, don't drink too much if you've been fasting.
Q, it's almost too much to comprehend...
I'm in for the long term.
Dividends and diversification.
But, it's hard to watch. It's so hard to watch.
If the Titanic is going down, I'm staying on deck. Pour me another glass!
There's something just not right about this...
(Beware Google images!)
D2 - Oh no, I won't be. First thing on hand will be a nice tall glass of iced tea. And then some food. No drinkies, I don't think.
Really, I must say, the fast is easy. I don't mind not eating. It's the lack of fluids I dislike. One person near me was getting snippy and I wanted to shout "If you're going to be a bitch because you don't eat, you're missing the purpose of this day".

I am not worried about the long term future, I am really concerned about the short term. I am one of those small business owners that McCain was blathering about the other night and TAXES are not our concern, but cashflow if the economy continues to crumble.

Addy - you'll get a kick out of this - I asked L (of L & D) to give a brief description of what was being done. His reply:
Imagine a pool, and some people are frantically scooping tablespoons of water from the shallow end, and running down to pour them in the deep end. Now imagine the pool is on the top deck of a cruise ship. And it's sinking.
I just had to laugh.
brd, I'm with you on those concerns...
And, Q, I can just hear L saying that!
