You can never predict the pace of the Adults thread. Some days there are pages and pages, other days only one or two.

But I agree with your sentiment. Is there any worse message board feeling than posting in an on-going thread only to have it stand still?

And I love cricket noises.

wyou17, there really isn't a worse feeling. It's a bit childish to feel that way too, I realize.

And I agree...the sound of crickets is nice on occasion.

Oh well, if there is one thing I have learned on this thread - it's that in order to get the conversation going...offer food!

It really is a slow day here...

It's my last day interning at the office for the summer. I think that's making everything feel like it's moving slowly...

Though I appreciate a nice fruit platter. I had some very nice strawberries last night.

Plantains and bananas are quite different.

Plantains cannot be eaten raw, for one. When they are green they are used to make main dishes, usually cooked with ground meat. When they are ripe they are fried and smothered in syrup or sugar. (platanos maduros) They are actually much larger than bananas.

Bananas are... bananas. Though the ones we keep (not export) are smaller, have 'freckles' and are MUCH sweeter than the ones you buy here.

All right you darlin' fruit cakes - that's enough banana talk.

I was in an Oz state of mind and put "The Wizard of Oz" DVD on. When I put ear phones on and turn the volume up, I sound just like Judy!!!

Did I ever mention that I just love Margaret Hamilton? Last month's 'Angels' featured the original Glinda and next month's will have the original Elphaba. They just couldn't ever be topped!
