Hi,guys! Hope all is well on BOTH coasts...It's cold and snowy here and I'm getting pretty sick of it. Went to Lake Michigan on Saturday with some friends...but it just doesn't feel like a "beach" without tan lines and volleyball...
Welcome home, Pip!
Pip!
Hiya adults... I hope you all are staying warm.
Hi! Warmth is a state of mind...
But so is a comforter.
Thanks for the tea, Boobala, though the thought makes me nauseous. Found out that three of my friends that I was with on Saturday night have all come down with this stomach virus. Fun, fun! Sleeping last night was sporadic at best. Few minutes here, 1/2 hour there. UGH!

Oh no! Have some ginger tea. It's great to settle your stomach.
I'm blue.....
I'm stuck at work, MILES from home, the temp is dropping and we're now getting frozen rain. The Federal Government closed at 2:00 but we're still sitting here, waiting for the boss to come back from lunch so we can leave. Metro stops running their buses by me when it gets icy out there. I bet I end up walking the last 5 miles home!
OH dear... mamie, be very careful. Walking in ice is quite dangerous. Can you stay elsewhere that wouldn't require you to walk 5 miles home?
DD, I'm not a tea drinker at all. I'm lucky I've got boring, run of the mill Lipton in the house. I did break down and am slowly sipping a cup right now.
Mamie, just go! Better to be safe.

Mamie - you can't say things like that here - now I want to book an emergency flight to DC just to get you home safely! Can't you just leave, due to the circumstances? If the boss has a problem with it, tell him he can come in here and discuss it with us
Girly... I hear ya! I have not liked tea much most of my life. But when I was quite sick with nausea a while back, the ginger tea really helped.
I'm hoping Mamie's non-response means she's heading home earlier rather than later.
Wow... I remember the ice storms. Glad we don't get those here. We have enough trouble with plain 'ole snow.

DD - all we need here in SoCal is a little mist in the air and all HELL breaks loose!
Ginger Tea is also very helpful if you have acid reflux or similar symptoms.
I understand a little brandy in tea makes for a . . . different experience, as well

Hello adults. The last leg of my commute (bus)will be horrible.
Yes, a little brandy is fine in tea. I like the Tazo.

Mamie - I hope you're posting from home!
I'm home. I left about 10 minutes after posting that. I knew I would have a hard time getting all the way home so I got off the train at National Airport (I refuse to call it by that other name) and I caught a cab there. The cutest young Italian guy was driving it and we had the loveliest time chatting all the way home. It ended up costing me more than I actually earned today but it was worth every penny.
Tomorrow (as Scarlet would say) is another day....
We had to give up our tickets for Edward Scissorhands at the Kennedy Center tonight because of the rotten weather. Oh well...not even a show is worth risking your life for!
Very true. This is definitely a DVD kind of evening.
Miss P, you should come down here. 90 degrees.
GH! I JUST PMed you! How clairvoyant of you!
Mamie's right...now what to watch, that is the question.
I believe I'll be spending the evening with Jerry Lewis. I can always use a laugh!
