DG, the appropriate response is "Good, Shira! This FGF is very proud of you!"

I think he's in too much shock right now.
Good point, Gracie! Let's hope he comes out of his stupor soon. (P.S. I love hiking.)
I do hope so! We need him alive and well.

I actually did enjoy the hike, it was nice. But I'm not up for it becoming a regular thing.

"Good, Shira! This FGF is very proud of you!"
		     			Hmmph!

Oh, and here's the proof!

DG, isn't it great that we can be there for each other? Love you!

Shira, that is gorgeous! (The waterfalls, too.
)

Haha, Miss P! You can barely see me, and thank you.

The rest are on facebook, naturally.

Well done Shira - both you and the scenery look beautiful!
YWIW, did you see the cat whisperer? What did she say?
		     			Yep.

She says her experience is that odds are, it is bad, very bad. I said that the Vet thought it could be a form of pancreatitis, but she thought it was doubtful, and that I should call her after I get the ultrasound back.

She said if it is cancer, no chemo, and if they suggest invasive surgery, say no. Neither really benefits the cat, and only makes the owner feel like they have done all that they can.

And, she said once I knew what was going on for sure, if it is the worst, feed him whatever he wants, and spoil him rotten. Ignore the "special diet" stuff the vets will push. And, that if it is bad, she will keep an eye out for a companion for Zorra when the time is right.

I adopted Zorra from her, and she runs one of the largest rescue programs in my area. She said some cats just have bad genetics, and that at this age, things like this can crop up. There is really nothing you can do to prevent it.

I am hoping against hope that this is just me planning for the worst (which is a bad trait I have, reinforced by some things in my past) and wasting a lot of energy on something simple and easy...

  Best wishes!!!!

So my first big night out since being single....and I get groped by a woman. Only me.

		     			Thanks all.

OK, I am really out of the loop... Single?

Yeah, Chris & I are no longer together. Everything is fine though.
Oh honey, I am so out of it, and so sorry.

Between the move of my office, and my kitty worries, I have been a bit off and on on here.

Chris is a big stinky poo!

YWIW, I do not think your approach is a bad one. My Dad used to always say, "Hope for the best, plan for the worst." I had a couple of cancer scares in the last few years, and after I worried myself sick and felt really, really sad about not being around to see my children grow up, I started thinking about what cute style wig I would get in the event I lost my hair to chemo.

It turned out that I did not have cancer, thank the goddesses, but I went through my process of problem-solving: feel the shock, feel the pain, visualize the worst-case scenario, consider ALL the possibilities, accept that life happens, then wait...all the while hoping for the best.

You are allowing yourself to feel and you are being practical about the future. A good balance.

Not that I want to go into publicly....but I can say that everything is very amicable and ok. I harbor absolutely no hard feelings or anything. It is just part of life.

and....sooo....what else is new and exciting?

Hi Tink! The only news so far is that I hiked.

Oh, YWIW. *hugs* But I agree with Miss P on all counts.

I had a big old glass of Bombay Sapphire last night, and promptly went to sleep at about 9... DG has a cell phone camera. Miss P survived and ant attack and demographic challenges from those who consider Virginia to be part of DC. DGG's boy has a cold. Girly turned her A/C on and is having her cable installed. Shameless saw Idina and no police report was filed. DD is getting to direct a show he has always wanted to (I think it was direct)...

Other add on where appropriate.

lol that was a great recap, thanks YWIW!

Oh, and Shira went on a hike and communed with nature, but then demanded a day spa for compensation.
Great recap, YWIW. I love that.
The Vet just called... the blood work was not that bad, so they have no idea until they do the Ultrasound and maybe pull a tissue sample. Some evidence of infection, but no rampant cancer.

And now, for an awwww moment.

I took this earlier today - what a pile of feline fur:
