That looks lovely.
So far this morning, I've dropped a paperweight, just missing my toe, and scraped a knuckle. How I scraped it, I have no idea. This is the third time in a week and a half I've knocked that paperweight off the kitchen shelf. Only once did it land on a toe. It's been up there for ages, so I don't know what the heck my problem is. Me thinks it's time to find somewhere else to put the darn thing.

Mornin', all!
My dad was the one who had a really hard time with me moving out. My mom was kind of thrilled, but as some of you know, we had a pretty rocky relationship until I left. Me leaving the house was the best thing that ever happened to us.

Morning peeps lah !!! I am back safe and sound in S'pore. I arrived at 1 this morning and am exhausted. It took 13 hrs from Newark to Tokyo with a 4 1/2 hours lay over there and then 7 hours from Tokyo to S'pore. Gave me enough time to finish "Twilight" and start the second book "New Moon". Yes I am now captivated by these books..thanks LS.

Posted: 8/18/08 at 9:04amGlad to hear that you made it back safe and sound, poddie. I read four books on those flights. What were the two you recommended to me again? I watched a Thai movie yesterday afternoon -- a martial arts thing -- the star reminded me of Mr. Doi. The English dubbing was horrible.

LOL! I love how I get credit even when I recommended that you NOT read those books.
Great, now I may have to check them out too. Thanks.

c'mon Shamey, you gotta know he'll do the opposite of what's suggested. Sometimes.

So, I need to start suggesting that he do the opposite of what I want?
That could be dangerous.

Yep. Need to approach it very cautiously.
I'm still slogging thru e-mails, and I was only out for two days.

Poddie...you have to read "Private Dancer" by Stephen Leather ...#1 seller in Thailand. I gave up on "Farang"..just short stories of some Dr. that moved there...not that interesting. Once I finish the books that Shamey suggested
I'm going to read Bangkok Babylon..sounds interesting.
I am sitting here watch American TV..so excited...I finally hooked up Slingbox on my sons TV when I was home and now downloaded onto my computer here. Now I can take over their TV..it's amazing. Who ever came up with this is BRILLIANT !!! Now I know what's going on back home. I see there's a storm in Florida in the Keys. Hope everyone is safe. I see it's 84 degress in NY

Well, at least we had Wednesday...
I am home today with the kids. Cobalt is much more frisky now. Hopefully, next time you are in town Zorra will come out to say hello.

Exactly, YWIW. I'm glad Cobalt is coming out of his shell!! He's a doll.
...and do you really think Zorra will ever come out?

I don't know. She is so different around me - right now she is walkling all over my dining room table, and meeping for attention. With folks who have been here a few times, she does come out, so I don't know.
'Tis a shame, because she is so pretty, and so sweet, but so damn skittish.
Cobalt hops like a kangaroo when he is excited or wants to get away (from medicine) he literally goes up three feet, and forward two. And alas, he is also a jumper. He can get up on the kitchen counter with a single jump.
