Thanks, Harris! I needed some new dust cloths.

Is there a rivalry going on?

brd - yes, band really is that nerdy.
I know because I married an ex-band geek.
And for the record, he generally has to try to walk a thin line between trying to save me and trying to kill me.
I'm afraid to ask what instrument my papi played.

Hmm, well being geeky is not too bad! But, C15 plays the flute with brilliance and the band at her school is excellent, but I guess geekiness trumps talent!
Q, I will pray for the Tin Man!
I'm an excellent geek, and I love it.
No rivalry here. I don't even know who else is playing.

With all awareness of what this will cause in certain minds, I will inform you that the TinMan played the flute.
*ahem*
And well enough to work as a studio musician in LA before he embarked on his teaching career.
I will also say that he has perfect ombishure. Make of that what you will . . .
Today, Charlie has decided that they're going to work on Todd's ombishure. Todd doesn't know what an ombishure is, but Charlie assures him that it's important. "It's got to do with the mouth," he says. "Tense, but no too tense. Imagine that your mouth is a garden hose, and the sound is the water. You don't want to squeeze it too tight, because then the sound doesn't go anywhere, and you don't want to be too loose, because then the sound goes everywhere. Pour it into the sax."
Look. I had to Google "ombishure" and this is what came up. It's "Dead Poets' Society" fanfic.
Surprising or not, I played the flute and piccolo for about 7 years. My ambitions were unfortunately cut short when my callback for the Jr. Phil was interrupted by a couple of broken fingers.
And, I had a wicked vibrato.

I'm not sure I should touch either of those posts . . .
I will say, however, that DEAD POET'S SOCIETY is one of my very favorite movies - and I'm probably going to have very pleasant dreams due to that fanfic
Q - Believe me, I read it and was disappointed to learn it wasn't, well, what we first thought!
YWIW - You're so talented!
A jack of all trades, a master of none.
Off to bed for me. I have about 5 hours of meetings and calls tomorrow. Ratbastards are not leaving me enough time to actually get my work done.
And Q, I personally thought you were quite fond of touching posts.

YWIW - I'm sure I don't know what you mean
By the way, did you feel any of the shaking a little before 8pm?
Yep. It is just a slight rolling, and my mirrors wobbled a bit, but it was clear that we were not the center.
But, earthquakes are always scary.
On another topic, my feet are cold. My thermostat says 68, but it feels much colder!

We are 7 miles from the epicenter - it was nothing. 4.something. It rolled on for a bit, but that's all. I was just curious how far it reached.
And after spending 2 weeks in Michigan in single-digit temps, NOTHING is cold to me!
