Posted: 12/17/04 at 8:41amAw, DG you know how to make a boy smile :) I've been meaning to tell you that the tree is up at the Capitol and it looks stunning. We just need a light dusting of snow and we'll be in full holiday mode. Even the workers at the dreaded Capitol Hill post office were in a cheery mood - next thing you know the stoplights will be blinking a bright red and green!

Morning BT. Glad to hear that Capitol Hill is cheery...I'm sure it's from all the drinking they do.

Posted: 12/17/04 at 8:46amThe drinking definitely helps the cheeriness! That, however, is not unique to the Hill.

A dusting of holiday decor and cheer can make anyplace or anything beautiful. I'd love to see the old Smithsonian building decorated for the holidays again

Posted: 12/17/04 at 8:51amMorning Addy. It sounds like from what I read last night on this thread that "Little Women" is not one of the shows to run out and see.

Posted: 12/17/04 at 8:53amSutton Foster is worth seeing. And the show tries really hard. It was just missing something... I would not say to stay away from it - it was a lovely evening. But, I wouldn't say to run to your local ticket office, either. Unless you are a Sutton fan, in which case I say RUN!

Posted: 12/17/04 at 8:55amGood morning Addy! I just booked tickets to a meet and greet with Carol Channing in April at the McCarter in Princeton. I can't wait to see her again.

Joey - a baking weekend sounds divine!!! I didn't get a chance to really decorate or bake this year. If you want to send a few dozen cookies south, I'll give you my address
I've heard those snickerdoodles are legendary and they are a family favorite!

I will be in PA this weekend celebrating Christmas with my sister and her family. I'm staying over Sunday night because my niece has a solo in the Christmas Festival at their church, so I want to be there.
I'm looking forward to a loving, traditional, family-filled weekend with no chores! And LOTS of Aunt Addy time!

Posted: 12/17/04 at 9:09amBoobs, it's just another holiday scent to add to the house, since we are without the christmas tree pine-y smell this year...

"i made a quick gingerbread last night" - the nonchalance of statements like that cracks me up! I know my way generally around a kitchen, but the concept of making a 'quick gingerbread' is out of my repetoire. My hat is off to you, good sir
