Morning, Pip - it is indeed Carl's birthday. He was on last night and some of us wished him the best - he thanked us, but said he probably wouldn't remember it when he woke up. I wouldn't expect to see him for awhile

I like to get a nice little pot of orange peel and cinnamon and clove simmering on the stove to make the house smell good. I am anxious to hear how the puff pastry turns out.
