I never heard of 'Let My People Come'...when was it on Broadway?
ps - see - I was a very good girl and got all my chores done and now I can come back to play for a little while...

NYadgal...
Good for you! It's hard to come inside to do chores when the rest of the neighborhood is playing kickball!

This was the song from Hair my mom really hated...I can't imagine why...(I think I was in 6th or 7th grade when I bought the record...)
Welcome sulphur dioxide,
Hello carbon monoxide
The air, the air is everywhere
Breathe deep, while you sleep, breathe deep
Bless you alcohol bloodstream,
Save me nicotine lungsteen
Incense, incense is in the air
Breathe deep, while you sleep, breathe deep
Cataclysmic, cataplasm
Fall out atomic orgasm
Vapor and fume at the stone of my tomb
Breathe like a solemn perfume
Eating at the stone of my tomb
Welcome sulphur dioxide,
Hello carbon monoxide
The air, the air is everywhere
Breathe deep, while you sleep, breathe deep
I loved kickball in school. I even liked dodgeball.
boobs - I'm surprised I didn't hear about it. I was in high school then, and probably would have wanted to see it! My friends and I took the train into the city and bought rear balcony seats for $15.00 as often as we could! (However, I'm sure my mom would have forbidden me to see that one!)
They cut the song "AIR" out of the movie Hair...Annie Golden sang it, but it's on the soundtrack...Thank God..I love that song too.
Not a show Mom would've wanted you to see. I heard they handed out bananas at the beginning and taught the audience the art of Fellatio . One of the songs is "I'm Gay" which was like a ooh back then. I believe this show started at the Village Gate in 1974 and the album was up for a grammar that year.
I just realized why I wasn't aware of it - 1976 was the summer of Son of Sam - and I wasn't going into the city that summer...none of us were allowed anywhere near it!
Hell..my parents took us to see a double feature of "A Clockwork Orange" and "Deliverence"..I don't know if they were hip or just trying to mess with our heads. They weren't into reading synopsis' before taking us to the movies as you can tell. They probably thought they were musicals...well "A Clockwork Orange" did have some singing and dancing in it as I recall.
That is cool. (Undiscovered - not your movie selection, boobs!)
My parents took me to see Godspell and Pippin...Hair didn't make the cut. (They went to see it for themselves, but didn't take me!)
Speaking of Pippin - so excited about the benefit performance in November!!
boobs - I remember your writing about that about 150 pages ago...I still can't believe your parents took you to see those movies!!
NYadgal..you have a better memory than me...I guess it's one of those memories you just can't shake. Don't you hate when people repeat themselves?? Sorry guys.
No - I didn't mean you shouldn't repeat yourself - I just remember being so amazed by that story!!
There has been alot of repeating on this thread...guess that comes with old age! LOL!
I always forget who I tell certain stories to...I call them brain farts. NYadgal, I know you weren't saying that it in a negative way..I just always feel bad when I do that.
I love having brain farts. Gives me a great chance to laugh at myself!
What were we talking about?
LOL MOM !!!
I have a friend who loves stealing your stories and telling them as if they are hers. Funny when she starts telling you a story that happned to her and you realized it happened to you. So you say to her..hey that's my story and she says...Oh you told me that, well it sounds better if I said it happened to me. God love her !!!

Brain farts and forgetfulness...
Today I walked into our small copy/work/junkroom and spent at least a minute trying to remember what I was there to do...
I feel like such spaz when that happens.
Any try that gingko stuff? Does it really help with memory???

Have you guys seen the prices for the final performance of The Boy From Oz?? I should sell mine....
Beacon....Ginko didn't help me. We just have to accept the fact that we're getting old and this is what happens. I can't tell you how many times I walk into a room and wonder, what am I here for???
I haven't tired Ginko, either. It scares me a little.
(I'm suddenly reminded of 50 First Dates - and your old icon, boobs!)
I just talk to myself all the time... and I'm not the only one in the office doing it!
Helps me remember what I was intending to do...
