ok, kiddies, it's time for me to go to bed.
I leave you with a few lines of a song my Dad used to sing to me when I was a little girl and he was tucking me in...
Music I can wish you,
Merry music while you're young,
And wisdom when your hair has turned to gray.
But more I cannot wish you than to wish you find your love,
Your own true love this day.
Be good -

I wanna call my dad now...except he soooo doesn't like talking on the phone and doesn't always return messages...its a running joke in the family.

It's sad to think people sing this to lull their babies to sleep.

Why... the lyrics?
The melody is beautiful. Very sweet. Perfect for babies and little kids.

Well "Rock A Bye Baby" isn'y exactually filled with happy thought either.
Hi friends....my computer keeps crashing on me tonight..ugh !!! Now after it's back up and running..I got to run. I look forward to more memories in the morning. I used to put on music to fall asleep..luckily Mom didn't try and serenade me...loved her dearly, but her singing voice was piercing. She said if i cried as a baby she would put a radio in the crib with me I would fall right back to sleep. Some of my favorites now to fall asleep to are: Jane Oliver, Enya, Annie Lennox, to name a few.
Who writes these? Mother Goose must be holding her head down in shame...or is she the culprit?
OK folks who here remembers Bugs Bunny sining "I dream of Jeannie. She'a a light brown hare?"
Ahhhhh... childhood memories.
So much to catch up on. This thread moves so fast.
Boobs, thanks for the rainbow song lyrics. I love that song. Especailly the part about the sirens song calling young sailors.
Mom, when you get to Boston, say hello to Orion. He's there working with the Cirque Du Soleil tour.
Nina..I thought of you when I read that line...kisses good night to you my darling.
what a surprise, Boobs. I thought you were already in bed.
No Nina..I'm like a kid that can't be dragged off so easy. When I saw you here I couldn't leave so fast.
As much as I love talking to you, I don't want to keep you from your beauty sleep.
My computer was crashing all night and I was trying to purchase my tickets for the final performasnce of "I am My Own Wife"...I finally got my tickets..I can't wait to see it.
