Hey Boobs, we have the same sign by a technicality. My BD is December 30. So I never had a party and always got screwed out of gifts. I threw a fit when I was four and declared that June 30 would be my new "half" birthday. My Mom threw me half birthday parties and still buys me gifts and sends a cards!

Adgal - since we share the same sign, I'm intrigued about how your "interesting" day turns out. So far mine has been dull, so I'm thinking the afternoon will be a wild one. I'll watch out for large cakes concealing bodies... SOMSS, I promise to buy you both a Christmas gift and a birthday gift.

SOMMS -- that is so sweet -- I know a family that celebrates half birthdays -- the literally send each other a card torn in half , and as kids got half of a cake -- it's pretty funny!

I like that half birthday idea - it is like two for one. Just freeze half the cake and save the other half of the card. How very republican.

DG, have you left for lunch yet?
Have a great time with Shira!
BT - so far the day has been same ol' same ol'... Keep me posted on yours!
Love the half birthday idea. Why didn't I think of that? I'm a birthday person - LOVE celebrating - much to my family's dismay! If I celebrated my half, I could have twice as much fun! Thanks for the great idea...

Haven't thought about it yet. No significant other to make those plans for me this year...we'll see.

Undi - believe me, I'm aware of the time difference between NY and LA!
It's my dummy of a lover who gets confused...he called me when he got up this morning for an early meeting, forgetting that I'm not 3 hours ahead but 6 hours behind (he's in Prague)... Thanks a bunch!

Rath - you should plan a gathering in your own honor! Gather your friends and have fun... and in the meantime, you know we'll all be toasting to you!

Somms, that really sucks having your BD so close to the holidays. Mine is mid July so, my birthdays were always an excuse for big family cookouts. I also got screwed out of parties because all my friends were away at camp.

My 50th birthday falls on Easter Sunday...
I'd better get a Fabulous Easter basket that year!

Yeah, I always felt bad for people who had birthdays near holidays.
My problem was the extraordinarily mixed emotions about September being the start of school (YUCK) but also my birthday (YAY).

Boobs - no one bakes with kitty litter like you do, NO ONE! You'll always be Betty Crocker to me. I'm just hoping Rath wants a cake that we can serve on my crystal cake stand instead of in a rubbermaid bin...
