KMF - even if you're only getting to Long Beach, it's not THAT far away (I've grown used to driving many miles to do anything I want to!) And I hear they even have scotch in Long Beach.

nope - but maybe I'll see you in the airport.
DG - I need to look on a map to see where you live. John lives in Palos Verdes.

NY - look for Ontario on a map, about 45 miles east of LA on I-10. We're right above that (listed as either Alta Loma or Rancho Cucamonga.)

Thanks. I don't have a map at my fingertips right now, but it will give me something to do on the plane!
John has been in Palos Verdes for a while - it's lovely, and has a nice school system for his kids.

Palos Verdes is lovely - not really like where we're at - which could be in Topeka for all I know - the conservative part of Topeka, that is.
Namo said he did exactly what Undi guessed - copying and pasting. So, there you have it.

the conservative part of Topeka - you crack me up!
One of the things I like about the greater LA area is that there are so many different landscapes and lifestyles. The dessert, the coast, the valley...it's very interesting to me.

NY - I agree completely, God knows I love the desert - remember my glowing raves about Scottsdale? - but this particular area is just SO limiting, I could scream. We actually have neighbors who won't let their kids play with other neighborhood children because they read Harry Potter - it's Satanic!
Besides which, if I'm going to live in SoCal, I want all that SoCal offers, like temperate climate and the OCEAN! Not to mention, society and culture, but I digress.

digress away...I love hearing your views on life out there!
KMF - hurry back - and get a really big bottle!
What happened to Undi? She must have been lured away by something more exciting...is anybody chatting? (this thread, after all is a slightly slower 'chat'...)

I just went out to get the mail - and what do I see but the stars of the original Star Wars on the cover (because of the DVD)! I have to tell you, when I was a wee teenage queer, Luke Skywalker and his blond surfer self trying to leave home to have a life was about the end of the world! I saw the first movie 12 times the 1st week it came out! Then, of course, I became an adult - and saw the release of Indiana Jones - and, well, let's just say Hugh isn't my first fantasy

Catastrophe averted...yikes, I went into withdrawals without a back-up bottle!

DG - what a description. But I have a question - on the cover of what??
Did you read that Hugh and Matt are in this issue of People? Just one picture - but that's all I need!
wee teenage queer - I just spit champagne across my room!

NY - so sorry, it's Entertainment Weekly.
You should hear some of the OTHER ways I describe myself at various points in my life! No, you shouldn't - so don't ask

Are you back from the store, or did you find a back-up bottle stashed away in your closet? My front coat closet is 1/3 coats and 2/3 cases of champagne...I love my closets!

Self-reflection is something best done alone - but I will tell you that when I was in college in DC, my nickname in the bars was Rubbermaid - because of the way I danced! (I'm rather, shall we say, 'elastic and limber')

That's classic - and a great visual!
Undi - I don't watch that show - but people rave about it. Glad to know you're enjoying it.
K - do you think that will be enough?
My nickname in college was Doobie... no stories.

SPITTING MARTINI ON SCREEN...that was great DG -- I was one of the people they based the Preppy Handbook after (ick) -- my freshman year of college -- someone went to a Halloween part as me and layered about 15 Izod shirts on top of each other and got my sperry top[siders held together with medical tape.....(since we are sharing)
