KMF so sad. The worst thing for a parent to face is the death of a child. We always hope we go before our children. This is my worst nightmare and I need to go now. Talk to you all later.

I was so struck by what Mayor Bloomberg said at the service on 9/11 this year:
That when a child loses a parent he is called an orphan.
When a wife/husband loses a spouse she/he is called a widow(er).
But, there are no words to describe the loss of a child. It is an unbearable pain.

it's a test of faith...I am not sure sure I would pass, but I have to believe there is some reason....it helps you get through the day!
I have been designated their official family hugger, so if that's something I can do to help them, it's not a bad job!

It's not a bad job at all.
K, it's amazing what we can survive... As long as we have people we can turn to. I've found strength in the face of tragedies I never expeced to know, let alone get through. Hugs do a great deal to help.

KMF, that's so tragic. I'm so sorry that you have to face that. Funerals are bad enough but, a child that young is just too much to take. All I can say is try to deal with it as best you can and take some comfort in the fact that you can give some comfort to that poor family.

Somewhere just east of us, actually
If you were in the city I'd come meet you for a hug - but know that I'm sending you one via BWW!

Right on, Nina. Those "time" rules are ridiculous anyway.

I think we should all have a drink together. I'll take a mojito. What's everyone else having?

A really strong strawberry margarita would be pink, no?

Well Zola, I've never been one to follow rules.
I'll have a dirty martini or maybe that little drink I thr=ew together on friday when we were hanging out here. I don't know if it has a name or if it's something I invented but, I'll call it a Red Chita since it matches the dress.

Rodney - the restaurant across the street from where I live makes delicious pomegranate margaritas. They're kind of pink.
Nina - I remember thinking the concoction you came up with on Friday sounded delicious - I love the name: Red Chita!!
Cheers, everyone!
