when one falls asleep AND laughs at the staging during the same show, the production certainly is questionable.
Beach blanket HUSSY!

Glad you had a good time, DAME - by the way, did you see Take Me Out this past weekend?
Dgrant;
It is this riday night I will be going. What did you think?
Cookie - I couldn't wait for it to end!
Dame - a cosmo sounds perfect right now. Goodness knows I couldn't drink a glass of wine after having suffered through Dreckula. I think it's time to get the shaker out and make something pink!

Loved the language - will probably enjoy reading it more than seeing it. A couple of really wonderful performances - strong cast overall. Only total negative for us was the lighting. They had a very good house which seemed to enjoy it immensely.
Hello Undi and DG... Drink anyone? I've got a pitcher of cosmos chilling.

Dreckula, huh? That's a pretty succinct summation
DGrant: The language of the play is some of Greenberg's best. The analogy of baseball to democracy...
Addy: Well, at least you had a few good naps during that spanse of time...

KMC - it was thrilling to hear the language while we were watching it. In retrospect, there were times it just didn't seem to have anything to do with the characters as they were presented - which is why I think I'll enjoy reading it more. I was in tears during Mason's big monologue - and he was exceptional in the role, which helped
I'm just glad it was an early (7pm) curtain, otherwise I would have been sorely tempted to leave at intermission.
I agree, Cookie, about Take Me Out. I'd love to read it - having seen it performed. I'd like to savor the words...
I think if I had actually been that bored and horrified at a production, I would have left at intermission. You toughed it out (or slept through it), which shows determination, at least...
I was on a ticket buying spree in the area right before your curtain time...
Cookie - I would have left if I had been alone, but I had clients with me. They felt the same way I did, but wanted to stay.
Oooh - tell me, tell me - what did you get tickets for??
Addy: Your clients were masochists!
Undi: Your sides must have been in spasms for the rest of the night, to control yourself as such. Mine would be killing me...
All the direct mailing discounts came sloshing through the mail. So I decided to snap up "Democracy," "'Night, Mother" and "Laugh Whore" while the going was good. And then denied myself some Jamba Juice because I had eaten a lot earlier in the day already...
I'm making the same rounds...just got tickets to 'Night Mother' and 'Democracy', also.
And, why oh why did you deny yourself? Love me some jamba juice!
a little denial makes the savouring oh-so-much better later on...
That's one way of looking at it.
Trust me - I know about waiting. I have the patience of a...well...not really comfortable with the term Saint...but, I know the pleasure in finally getting what you desire
Hey! I just thought of something. Today is my half-birthday!
Weren't we talking about half-birthday's about 400 pages ago?
Hmmmm...wonder if Hugh Jackman would like to celebrate with me?...
Many happy half returns!
I have always thought that adding some vodka to the Strawberry Tsunami would make a great frozen drink... Not to mention a bit pink...
must sleep. bon nuit, madamoiselle rose'
That's an excellent suggestion. (strawberry Tsunami)
There is just no shortage of good ideas when it comes to vodka.
Must sleep, also.
Bonne nuit, monsieur biscuit!
good morning, everyone... coffee is ON and the deeply almond chocolate muffins are just going in the oven... give them about 25 minutes and they'll be perfect!
