DG- The security is a bit annoying, but I live on the Hill and I'm getting used to it. The new museum of the American Indian is gorgeous. You will have to make a visit back here sometime.
I love cherry blossom time. It is right around my birthday (and Adgal's) so it makes it extra special. Tomorrow I'm celebrating my 10th anniversary with my guy so we're planning a hike in the hills of Virginia to see the fall colors. Spring and Fall are so lovely here.

I sing for myself. I sing when I want, whenever I want to, just for me. I sing for my own pleasure. Do you understand that?

Hmmmm, Glitz - in my experience, all the attempts in the world can rarely make life 'orderly and precise' - but I certainly understand giving it a shot!

BT - although I've ended up in the west - and really can't imagine being anywhere else - there will ALWAYS be a place in my heart for the land in western and northern Virginia. Our family used to own property up in the Smith Mountain region of the Blue Ridge, and being there on a lake in a canoe was one of the few light-filled spots of a rather dark childhood.
Boy, I do miss the array of colors at this time of year.

BT - Happy Anniversary! That's quite a milestone. I hope you have a wonderful celebration.
John and I just celebrated 15 years together. We're saving the 'official' celebration for Paris in a couple of weeks.
And - I LOVE being in Washington around my Birthday... hmmm... *idea forms*
K - Is 2 hours and 12 minutes the best you can do? Well, maybe I can rinse and repeat...

Aw, thanks for the well wishes. I can't believe it has been 10 years already. We celebrated in Hawaii last month, but tomorrow is the offical day. Now if we can just elect Kerry, we'll be one step closer to being officially official. Or at least we won't be one step further away...

BT - was I in a coma? Did I know you were in Hawaii? Which islands?
If you make it official, official - can I be a bridesmaid?
K - got it! 2 hours for just the whites. We do whites first, right? Then we move on to the colors...

Congrats, BT! That's wonderful!
My computer has crashed 6 times in the last hour so I'm going to minimize my frustrations by closing down and letting our computer geeks figure out what is going on! Thank you SO MUCH, everyone, for making me feel so welcome here! I have started a spreadsheet to help me keep track of my coffee duties (I am a VERY organized coffee boy)and I will work more on it tomorrow! Have a great evening!!

Pip - can you send your computer guys over to my office, too. My computer guys supposedly fixed mine yesterday but now it's worse than ever.
See you later!

Since we have extablished that Pip is qualified to be the interim 'Boy', I would also like to make it established that he is my ward, and any questions or comments concerning his viability can be directed to me. I feel a strong protectiveness for this young one, and would hate to see any unfortunate circumstance arise because of miscommunication. He's a good one, and I feel that needs to be guarded and nurtured with respect and gentleness - what Nina does with him on her own time is her business, of course

Aaah Kona and the Big Island -- spent two weeks there last summer -- did you get a chance to get to the volcano? One of the most humbling experiances in my life to hike on lava/earth l;ess than 2 months old and then see actaul lava flows...
I missed it to that you went BT -- do I need to punish you for saying good bye personally and not sending a post card????

What I wouldn't give for a week in Hawaii right now...
Maybe when I get back from Paris.

Boobs was apparently swamped at work - and just about as happy about that as you would imagine.

well - I was swamped with work, too, but I managed to be here... I think it's highly suspicious that BOTH Boobs and Rath were MIA today...
