SOMMS that is too much. Thank you for making me have another giggke today! Heavens knows I (and many of us do) need it today
DG- you had better let the mutant bestial toad out of your stomach - it can't do you any good to keep it bottled up in there. Many of us are stunned. The Dems may have lost this race for the white house but I'm not going to stand by and let the religious right set up shop here in DC. I don't yet know what I can do, but the party needs us now more than ever.

Addy - I've been watching, and been thankful for the little smiles its given me.
My heart is so heavy right now. I can't believe that this is the state of the society that I have to live in. I'm trying to be greatful for living in California, where at least on a state level things aren't as horrific. But I'm having a hard time getting past the brute reality of the hatred displayed by so many. I'm sure it will pass - time does work wonders - but right now, I'm just consummed with sadness and dismayed by the prospects of the foreseeable future.

Yes! Let's plan and march and sing and shout and get the job done!
(...just as soon as I get back from Paris...)
Seriously, there is more than one way to get the job done! I'm there with you, BT!
Hey folks Erin just got she sends hugs to you all. And she'd like hugs. She said this one hurt more because she understood the issues better.
DG, I don't know what to say to help bring you any level of comfort but know that your friends are here and we care. Those insightful enough to care as much as you do about your fellow humans probably crash the hardest when society can't live up to high expectations. Yesterday's disappointment is huge...but there is hope. There has to be hope. Hang in there, my friend.

*hug*
Its a sad day and a worrisome one. Some many strong emotions and such a divided country. I fear for the next four years.
I will be praying earnestly for us to find greater unity, compassion, civility, and a positive, focus.
*hugs everyone*

Pip - thanks for the kind thoughts - and yes, I do look here to bring me back to some glimpse of the hope that I know still exists within me. As you said earlier, dreams don't die instant deaths, and it will just take a moment for this to sink in. In the meantime, as is my want, I am re-evaluating what it is that I think is important and how to move forward with integrity and a sense of purpose. Even with this sadness, I am thankful for the beautiful day I am given, and the love in my life with which to share it. Updated On: 11/3/04 at 04:04 PM

Bboobs!
RSR struck again and there are two new photos on the Eddie Varley thread...
And, Eddie is suspiciously quiet...do you think RSR has him?
or that Eddie (foolishly)is stalking RSR all by himself.

bump...
I don't want anyone to miss RSR's postings on Eddie's thread.
They are great for a good-natured giggle which we sorely need today.

I'm still here - but about to leave the office. Just have some items to attend to before I shut off for the night.
I have a c*cktail reception to attend for the Board members of my Chorale, and then will be home packing. I'll leave for the airport straight from the office tomorrow.
Have a nice night, all. I'll check back later!
