Addy, if you're looking for a romantic little restaurant in Paris (not that you have to look very hard), our longtime favorite is L'Auberge de la Reine Blanche on the Ile St.-Louis.
It had gotten a little chic-er the last time we were in Paris, but it hadn't lost its specialness.
And it's so nice to walk across the Seine to that cute little island...where, someday, I will have my pied a terre, n'est-ce pas?

I see Pal Joey has hit on my favourite part of Paris as well. But I have noticed that it had gotten "trendier" since two years ago. There are apparenly more little trinket shops than I remember.

I want to go back to Paris! And more so now, so I can geekishly examine things from "The DaVinci Code" after having finished that.

Okay, Cookie, let's just get on a plane! There may be trinket shops, but they'll never spoil our little "ile." Don't you just love getting ice cream at Berthillon? Have you ever eaten at the Reine Blanche?

PalJoey - I hope your pied a terre is right next to mine!
When I lived in Paris I was in the 7th arrondisement. Would move back in a heartbeat!
Thanks for the restaurant suggestion...I've never dined there.

I have not eaten at the Reine Blanche, though I've passed by several times (how could you not, with the Ile-St-Louis being that tiny?). The ice cream at Berthillon is to die for... If I could only remember the name of the restaurant that I loved, right near the Eiffel Tower, I'd toss that out. But I'm sure our Addy is more than proficient at her own list of faves, given she was once a denizen of that fair city...

Cookie, I totally did the "DaVinci Code walk" when I was in Paris earlier this year. I wasn't alone

There were many people walking around with book in hand.
Not sure I would do an organized tour...but did enjoy the wander.
