KMF the day I move to NYC can't happen soon enough. Quick question for all you city dwellers. If I'm moving down there which is the best burough to look for nice apartments for a good price?

depends on what ou mean as a good price -- and also are you looking for your OWN place or a roomate...

It gets a bad rap for no reason, but look into Jersey City -- I am a 7 minute subway ride into World Trade Center and 12 minutes to the West Village as well as a killer view of the harbor...

Astoria, Rego Park and Forest Hills in Queens areclose and I think still affordable (in NYC terms) -- I will admit a little bit of ignorance in Brooklyn neighborhoods other than the biggies (Park SLope, the Heights)

And thanks for the info about Pacific Overtures. I have tickets in December, and haven't heard much buzz about it, so am glad to hear your review.

I just booked my NYCB Winter Season subscription...they have a wonderful repertoire scheduled -- including Jewels, which is one of my all time favorites! Can't wait to watch those beautiful ballet dancers... Everything is beautiful at the Ballet!

LOL. Well I did want to look into Brooklyn, but thats just my Beastie Boys obsession. Most likely I'll be moving down with a roomate. I've heard astoria is worth looking into too. But everything you say about Jersey city sounds promising.

Joey - I am itching to put on my ipod and listen to Pacific Overtures now. Drat my 11:00 meeting!! I love Someone in a Tree - it really makes you think about being a witness to history and how different people view events in unique ways. Please Hello is also a great number.
