Hi all. Little busy tonight. Keeping an eye on the boards, another eye on a couple EBAY auctions that are ending soon, while I watch SO2 as I finish decorating the tree. Been working on this damn tree since Monday night, putting together and doing the lights. Now, tonight, I keep oohing and aahing over every damn ornament. At the rate I'm going, it should be done by midnight!

:::sigh::: I know. Every year I say I'm going to get one, then forget and well, you know how it goes. That part's not even that bad anymore. I have so many ornaments and just can never decide what goes on and what doesn't. Don't have room to have more than one tree, so I have to pick and choose. The last couple years I've narrowed it down pretty much, but then start feeling bad that some of the stuff hasn't been used in ages. Isn't that pathetic? Don't answer that, please. And, of course, you always get a few more every year, so... It's just a vicious cycle.

I have SOOO many ornaments I can do years in "color themes" -- all red, all blue, all gren, all gold, silver or any
combination(s)...it's a sickness and result of working in department stores for many years and getting first crack at all sales....oh the things we would "find" in the stock room once the 75% off sale hit....

I've made myself stop buying Christmas stuff. I just don't have the room for it all. It has to be something really special for me to buy it now. I'm afraid I don't have any theme to my tree. It's just a mish-mash of my favorites. There's no rhyme or reason to it. It definitely wouldn't be featured in a magazine spead, but I like it.

bway girl -- I have found in recent years my tree has become the collection of favorites too! who cares about the mags -- it makes me happy!

The insane shopping stopped about 10 years ago when I went to a corporate position and not in the stoe -- but the boxes -- thatk god I do have lots of storage and closet space -- rare for NYC area

I have a lot of "old" ornaments. Ones from when I was growing up. Shiny Brite with the indents in them or scenes glittered on them, some that look like a top. Got most of them off EBAY a couple years ago, when I was on a nostalgia trip and was kicking myself for throwing out a bunch of ornaments similar to these about 20 years ago. I do have two original ones from when I was a kid. They're actually the two that my brother and I used to fight over who was going to put them on the tree. Since there were two of them and two of us, we each got to put one on. Of course when we were little, we didn't think of it like that. We just wanted to be the one that got to put them both on!
