*Whew* we made it with a quick stop at the video store!

I got the candles lit, the water boiling for pasta and the pumkin pie cooking! O yeah and the most important glass of wine poured!

Well, the turkey is brining: 4 quarts of water and vegetable broth, kosher salt, honey, pink peppercorns (hear that, Addy?), fresh thyme, sage and rosemary and my special brine ingredient for a moist and juicy turkey: two cups of bourbon.

PJ -- I saw your post about bourbon earlier today -- I will have to try that next time!

Just doing a breast this year -- just the two of us -- doing a simple salt brine and then smear the skin with an herb butter spread -- then will sear on top of stove and then roast off...
