I went last night to the screening of "Delovely" which was followed by a Q & A with kevin Kline moderated by Tracey Ullman. It was wonderful. First let me say that this man is gorgeous and he could have me anytime. 
He talked about "On The Twentieth century" and how it has been pitched to sony for a film version. He says the studio can't get past a entire musical taking place on a train.

Dame: That is so cool about Kevin Kline and the screening! And the movie company's need to get over themselves about musicals and just do them! I didn't get picked this year for the nominating committe, I wish I did cause then I would be getting all these movies in the mail for FREE! It figures that my friend who is away at college gets picked and he is not even here to get the movies!

Movie studios are okay with musicals taking place in someone's mind, but not okay with musicals taking place on a train? And that we're to suspend disbelief when it comes to so many of the mindless movies out there, but not when it comes to quality?
