In case anyone is following/cares about my dying computer saga, I'm going to have to send it off for 2-3 weeks (re: no bww past eleven). So, thoughts- send it now or later? When are you guys going to miss me most? (assuming you'll miss me at all)

Nia- Of course we will miss you.. I'm sorry that you have to send your computer in.. this royally sucks.. will you be able to be online at school at all?

I say this in all honesty, this place will not be the same without you.. and who is going to call me the gutter demon?

When are you sending it out?

Thanks, cam. so.. I'm sure I can find someone to remind you to drop the halo act in my absence.

Dealio is this- my parents will let me use the desktop, but since they will be able to hear me while I'm on it I won't be able to sneak around my curfew. So I'll be here just until eleven and thus missing most of the fun, unless people's schedules drastically shift to accomodate me. This all starts whenever I choose to send it, which is what I'm debating. Before or after break? I'm worried that it will get too bad if I wait too long, but if it's free does it matter?

I think you might get really, really bored over break and want it.

That's my thought process too- but I have a bad feeling about waiting too long.

That is upto you Nia, if you can bare to send it now, then that means the sooner you get it back.. Maybe your parents will lift curfew while you are on break.. it's not like you need to get up early for school right?

There's a thought. Normally my curfew is eleven-thirty on non-school nights, but I might be able to stretch it to twelve. There's really no chance of anything past that, but hm... When my dad gets home we're going to talk about all this. Best case scenario is getting the desktop in my room and being able to dodge the rules, worst is in the basement with a solid eleven o'clock limit.

Ok, if you were me what would you do?

I'd send it away ASAP. To get it back ASAP. I'd obsess over it breaking, and not have any fun over break.

I agree with ck.. I would want it back asap.. and the longer you wait it's possible the worse it will get meaning the longer it will take to fix..

Nia,I'd probably leave it in now, just in case it got any worse to the point where it's irrepairable...and we're a boring lot, you won't miss much. After Christmas, they may be swamped with computery stuff that people got as presents, and are too thick to work out how to use and anyway, I'm sure the time will fly! Especially 'cos over the break you may be busy with other things, and you'd be on the computer less anyway.

We'll miss you 'though! Updated On: 12/10/04 at 08:47 PM

Hey guys, just bumping this from the second page.

No energy to angst.

Been a bad few days.

I love cigarettes. And booze doesn't hurt too much either. (Yes I know I posted on the Boring and Sober thread. Sue me for my hypocrisy.)

At least our two threads are beating jmac's dying horse of a random thread. Ha.

Can I hop on to angst? I don't know if that's allowed. It's a really long thread, and reading it all...the thought makes me sad.

No need to read the other pages. It's pretty random and spontaneous, without the randomness or...happiness...of the random thread. Angst away, newbie!

Aight woman, I can't wait forever for ya! It's been a **** day and I've got a pounding migraine and a bad attitude. (Not your fault, hun.)

Be sure to post your problems here, and when someone wake up in a few hours, you'll have a few sympathetic ears and posts for shizzle, dawg. That's the beauty of it!

Sleep tight hun. I'll be back on whenever. (Is yours and paradox's thread still around?)

Okay, here I am. Yes, that beautiful thread is still around.

Okay. So it's been a crazy week. My finals are kicking my ass majorly. I have rehearsal for my PART 100 final for HOURS each day, and since my grade in that class generally sucks, I have to work ridiculously hard. PLUS, my drama teacher last year in HS was a stupid, self-centered idiot who cast her son and her son's best friend in the lead roles, giving me the part of a token British Lady--which I was SO overqualified for! I played Beatrice in "Much Ado About Nothing" my FRESHMAN year, and my senior year, the year the parts were supposed to be saved up for me, they give it to Monica Chavez? The hell with that!

ANYWAY, the relevance that has is that I'm ridiculously out of practice with my acting, so I feel like I'm in terrible form every time we rehearse. I can't focus, I can't get into my character...nothing. I must be failing at least two classes, which means I'll probably lose my financial aid, because I have some strange block with my history papers...I've had an anxiety attack every time I had to do my last two, so...yeah.

Then, because I had to study for my music test, I stayed up all night one day, then had to stay up all night the next doing another paper, and then couldn't crash until late at night. My dad is calling wanting to know if I'm working hard enough, my mom is calling wanting to know if I've lost weight, my sister is calling wanting to know if I can lend her money, and my friends in California (I'm in NY) don't know the meaning of the words "time difference" and call to angst until SEVEN IN THE MORNING, and THREE random guys from Cornell have called my room in the last two hours to talk to "Cherish" "Karen" and "Kim", none of which are my names, and...

AND! It's just really annoying when the food in the dining hall is crap, and I don't have any money to buy anything else, and the internet is only a decent speed between the hours of three and eight am, and...

yeah. Thank you, that was cathartic.

Wow, Lael. That does suck. I can sympathize. It worst part is definitely when the parents underestimate how much work you really put in, as if you're some kind of slacker when you've been up long enough to watch the sun rise and the birds chirp at your computer desk. My dad said to me the other day, "Don't you think you should apply yourself more to your school work?" and I thought I'd blow someone's head off because it was just following a brutal few days, similar to yours, where I'd pretty much had to salvage my college career!

And word on the weight thing. I'm sure you're just fine. Parents are Assholes. I've been called fat or chunky all my life but my parents, some of my friends (the rest just delicately avoid the issue because they're size 2s), a certain bad date, my extended family and family friends who barely know me but find it alright to take it upon themselves to say, "Oh you're not THAT fat." the first time they've met me, or pinch my arm and call me "meaty".

Do you have the option to buy or not buy food at your dining hall? On res here, you're required to purchase a food card, which costs $1400+ for 4 months!!! 8=O
