Posted: 10/1/06 at 7:16pmI saw some GREAT fake Coaches in Astoria, when I was walking to the subway this morning!

Posted: 10/1/06 at 7:18pmThey've been all over Times Square for years, yet you act like this comes as a surprise.

My wife wanted to buy me a Louie wallet
I have a real coach & not into the status of all the hoo de doo of Louie/Coach so I politely declined

You were "into it" enough to start a thread.
And it's Louis.

I know it is Louis but it is pronounced Louie
I did not know there were ground rules for starting a thread. I shall remember that for future reference
Most times you go & they are bad copies. Today they were good ones but I know they have been in Times square for years

Posted: 10/1/06 at 7:35pmIsn't Louis pronounced Louie though? It's French, isn't it?

Posted: 10/1/06 at 7:46pmPerhaps it is just me but I have always found Louis Vitton's stuff just plain FUGLY! Why would I want to carry something with someone else's monogram all over it?

Posted: 10/1/06 at 7:48pmYes, it's pronounced "Louie," but last I checked, the motion to begin phonetic spelling in the U.S. hasn't widely caught on. I wasn't aware we were doing that here.

#11re: Canal St Comes To Midtown
Posted: 10/1/06 at 8:46pmI don't know who Mr. H is, any more than I knew who Mr. S was before you changed it to Mr. H.
#12re: Canal St Comes To Midtown
Posted: 10/1/06 at 8:50pmA minor error which i coorected but surely you remember Mr H

It is every man for himself. I have to keep the wife away from them but it is a losing battle

This is hilarious that this started a thread.
I was thinking this today as well.
I'm in Times Square walking and all of a sudden I see about 8 vendors RUNNING with huge bags of things.
I guess the cops came or something.
