Catherine Zeta-Jones - what happened?

why does she look so different from just a few years ago? i cannot figure it out. she appears so different to me but i cannot put my finger on it - she does not look older/younger, fatter/skinnier, plastic/real. something is definitely different though...

Because everyone in Hollywood indulges in plastic surgery. They do it little by little.

She's starting to look like Meg Ryan.

The rumor in Hollywood has always been that Zeta is a good 6 or 7 years older (at least) then her "official" age. She looks pretty amazing, but I'm sure she's had some work done.

IN ADDITION TO THE CONTACTS, IT MAY AS WELL JUST BE THE GENERAL FACE EXPRESSION SHE HAS, OR THE WAY THAT THE PHOTO WAS TAKEN. LIGHTING, MAKE-UP, HAIR, ETC. LOTS OF THINGS CAN COME TO PLAY.

FOR EXAMPLE, I DON'T THINK I WOULD THINK MY OWN AVATAR WAS CATHERINE ZETA-JONES UNLESS SOMEONE HAD TOLD ME..OR I HAD SEEN THE MOVIE "AMERICA'S SWEETHEARTS" BEFOREHAND.

hmm. she does look less and less "ethnic" as time goes on. she once had a smoldering, almost closed-eye, latin/italian thing going. now she seems to have a more wide-eyed generic gal thing going on.

she doesn't look bad/better - just different.

She is just so stunningly beautiful no matter what.... though, I do see what you are talking about.

Plus we all are accepting the "plastic surgery" look more and more. It's the norm. If you step back and look at it it's awful. But just look at Nicole Kidman, in the words of a NYTimes critic "...she has been buffed to perfection."

By the way Cheno, dead on with the Meg Ryan remark.

Big friggin' deal. Catherine Zeta-Jones is not the first and will not be the last actress to have plastic surgery done. At least hers is flattering which is more than I can say for the jobs done on Cher, Joan Rivers, Melanie Griffith, Victoria Principal, Meg Ryan, Nicole Kidman...let me stop I'm running out of space and reasons to care...

she looks...older. not physically, but, you can tell that the picture from ocean's 12 is of a mother, (more mature) rather than a budding actress.

she also looks more natural, and with less makeup. her hair is lighter, and so are her eyebrows. (those are big difference; the eyebrows)

There's a newer T Mobile commercial currently running and she looks completely different. Her eye brows are much higher and her face is a little tighter. She's not as gorgeous as she was a few years ago. I guess it's called getting old and not coping well with it.

I think it's mainly the haircut and the lighter color. Her face looks exactly the same to me.
