Yes, I'm starting one of THOSE threads... Sorry.

I'm coming into the city either Monday or Tuesday to see ELF Tuesday night and was wondering if anyone knew of a cheap hotel that I won't get bed bugs from. No need for anything fancy, just clean.

Y...MCA!

Honestly, the Vanderbilt Y (47th between 2nd 7 3rd Ave.) or the West Side Y (63rd & CPW). The Vanderbilt is all shared bathrooms, the West Side has a few rooms with private baths.

I wouldn't recommend the Vanderbilt. Maybe things have changed in the last three years, but when I used to live there (yes, live--my school rented dorm space there for many years) the bathrooms were never clean, the place always smelled horrible, and there actually was a reported bedbugs outbreak. Whatever the cheap cost to put up there, it's not worth it.

Go to the applecorehotels website and plug in your dates. They have the lowest prices and the hotels are just fine.
