Darlings! I've just discovered the most amusing little out of the way place that my friends took me to. Luckily, they knew someone there so we were able to get a table on short notice.
It's called McDonald's but it's not Scottish! We started with an out-of-this-world dim sum appetizer called a "Happy Meal," which I presume is called that ironically given everything that's going on politically in the world. It even came with a little plastic lion that moved like one of those friction toys we used to get as children, and I think it was meant to symbolize our need to fight for endangered species.
The dim sum really aroused the tastebuds and prepared us for some incredibly unique takes on classic American food such as the hamburger. I took a chance on something called a Big Mac. The portions! I've never seen anything so big.
Well, next time I see you, I'll see if I can get us in. I don't know how likely it is, since on our way out to the valet I could see Jamie Oliver, the Naked Chef, BEGGING the doorman to let him, but no such luck.

They don't serve "drinks," Somms. They serve "cocktails," and there is no such thing as as free "cocktail." Cocktails come at a price. You of all men should know that.

I'm with Ashley. As a cheesecake purist, I don't believe that what the "Cheesecake" Factory serves actually counts as cheescake. It may be a great dessert, but it's more about the "white chocolate peanut butter truffle" than the cheesecake.
Now, this likely stems from being able to make the world's best cheesecake myself.

Posted: 4/21/06 at 4:35pmSigh... Okay, I'll say it. I don't particularly care for cheesecake. A few bites of a really good plain cheesecake or maybe with a little fruit is okay, but adding the sweet stuff to it makes me ill. Chocolate or caramel should never be anywhere near cheesecake!

I think I would have to get cheesecake every time I go there, if it ever does happen again.
Cheesecake, cheesecake, cheesecake. I love this thread about cheesecake!!!!!!

I am with JerseyGirl on this one. I don't like cheesecake that much. But when I do eat it, only plain will do. No fruit allowed.

Posted: 4/21/06 at 5:02pmI used to feel that way about cheesecake-plain only for me. But I either graduated or was left back - the more gook the better! I'm sure it's just a phase.

"I don't cheesecake that much."
I don't think that's a verb.
