So hell is literally freezing over.

He is just down the street, I could put on my black jogging suit run over and ask him for some shredded documents to burn for warmth!

My apartment is so. cold. right. now.

And we don't have control over the thermostat.

Sounds like my school. It's balls cold in one room, but walk across the hall and it's sweltering.

I DO have control over my thermostat, and I try to conserve more each month and the bills just keep climbing!

It's so cold that when I go outside my nose feels like it fills with snot the second I hit the air.

It may be the coldest day I can ever remember (I've lived a short life compared to some on here), but the moon is absolutely gorgeous rising outside my window.

It is -15 right now and there's nothing like the feeling of your nosehairs freezing first thing in the morning.

And yet people are walking around this morning with no hats or gloves, and their coats open. Crazies.

I have been here 24 years and I do not recall a colder day. My thermomenter read -15 when we left the house this morning. I only waited 5 minutes for the L!

It's so cold that my head hurts when I'm outside. I HATE CHICAGO IN THE WINTER!

Does anyone else have frost on the inside of their windows? lol there is a thin covering of white all over ours, which I've never seen happen before. Crazy. At least if/when it warms back up to the 20's it will feel like the temp is in the 30's/40's! :)

I highly recommend fleece sheets for those of you with cold rooms. I used to have to sleep in a hooded sweatshirt or a hat because my bedroom is ALWAYS cold (and like others, I try to keep the thermostat low to save $). I got the sheets at TJMaxx in early December and have been cozy ever since.

There's no help when I have to go walk my dog though. Even she didn't want to be out very long last night.

Stay warm fellow Chicagoans...

Our bedrooms are on the second floor and because the furnace is cranking away - the top floor is actually warm and the basement about 50 degrees.

I hate living in Chicago.

I had the day off anyways, though.

When I went past the bank thermometer this morning it said -24.

Oh, how I wish I had central heating instead of these radiators. Benny and I slept in the living room last night because my husband was snoring too loudly. I was so cold, I slept in flannel pants, a long sleeve shirt, and two pairs of socks. And I was still cold! And yet, my bedroom is so warm that I can barely stand a tank top and shorts. Something has gone awry here.

Joe, don't you practically live in Minnesota?

I just walked back from class and I have expected to look in the mirror when I got back and see that my nose and ears had fallen off.

Every school in the area was closed due to the cold yesterday- except ours. Must have been to make up for that one blizzard that never hit back in December- we took off school for that and it wasn't even snowing when I woke up the morning of.

I've got flannel sheets, three fleece blankets, and a quilt on my bed. And a full-size electric blanket nestled in between. That blanket turned out to be the best Christmas present ever! I turn it on ten minutes before bed and the sheets thaw and I can feel my feet when I wake up.

-Was that a fart?
-My fault, I fear.
