No hate here. I just thought it was a mediocre record that downplayed her greatest asset: Her voice.

No hate for Xtina here either. She has a great voice and personality. She doesn't have to resort to gimmicks. One of my favorite CD's is BACK TO BASICS. No gimmicks. Just her and her beautiful voice.

I hate when she resorts to those gimmicks and starts wearing weird hairstyles, clothes and makeup. IMO they don't enhance or do anything for her. They only UGLY her up.

When she released the STRIPPED CD with her wanna-be ghetto look complete with corn rows and a nose ring she looked gross.

Now she just looks like you should stick a quarter in her slot to make her sing with all this Bionic/Robotic b.s.

I haven't heard the whole album (and I'm kind of apprehensive about doing so), but I'm liking Elastic Love, You Lost Me, Woohoo, and Bobblehead.

While I really like this album, I have to say I agree with most of you. Her voice really doesn't get the chance to shine, except for the ballads. I would love for her to come out with a neo-soul album (ala Jill Scott) where she is able to still hold on to her "female power" ways but at the same time show off her amazing voice and become more personal. My favorite songs from her are the ones that come from her life and thoughts. "Sex For Breakfast" is the closest to the neo-soul sound on her new record, and I hope she sticks with it.

This era just isn't working out for her.

Firstly, they counted on her name selling this album. Only, they forgot that 'her name' doesn't mean a whole lot since she disappears from the spotlight for years on end. You have to be a tabloid celebrity nowadays (like Britney) and have constant exposure to expect to just drop an album and it go platinum without any effort. Or be a music legend that has so many fans that even if half of them don't like it, it'll still sell well (like Madonna).

Secondly, promotion has been sh*t. Waiting a month after you drop the lead single to perform it? Good one. She's given herself a decent amount of exposure with all these appearances, but now she has their attention...she has nothing to give them. Singles sell albums, not singing the national anthem. Why they haven't even properly announced her second single is beyond me, and if they aren't close to shooting a video for it yet - they're idiots.

The album is actually quite strong, it just doesn't have clear singles. You get the impression that RCA panicked that she'd created an uncommercial album so threw in last minute additions that just aren't strong enough to carry 'Bionic' as a mainstream album.

I think that perhaps she should leave RCA and find a new label. One that provides her with creative control, but doesn't let her just do what she wants because she clearly doesn't know how to run the business of 'Christina Aguilera' and how to reach her full potential in the music industry.

Ideally, after she's done promoting Burlesque (which will boost her profile and sales, but probably won't save the era) she should go back to the studio, work with the best of the best and make a truly commercial album that celebrates all that sets Christina apart from everyone else (the voice) but also has guaranteed hits. Then release it in early 2012. She can't afford to wait 4 years and make another under-performing album if she wants to remain on top.

Just my two cents.

Xtina's saga reminds me of rockers, funk bands, and crooners who were crushed by the wave of disco in 70s. Like Mariah, she's jumping on several bandwagons simply to remain relevant. With increasingly shortened production cycles, dwindling sales, and competition for the nanosecond attention spans of young music buyers, today's recording artist is all but guaranteed a short shelf life.

Recently, I was viewing the video to Pat Benatar's now classic 'Love Is a Battlefied' and instantly envisioned Xtina reviving it as an updated cover song. I'm luvin' the idea of Xtina dabblin' in the substantive neo-soul genre but would luv to see her embrace arena rock as well. This latest set is simply too Gaga-esque (and lite Mariah-esque) for Xtina to retain much credibility, I suggest. Xtina the gifted vocalist seems lost in the mix.

Christina can rock out ("Fighter") and would love for her to do more songs like that as well. Is this my favorite album of hers? No. That title goes to "Stripped." But, it's better than most pop albums I have heard lately.

I completely agree!

She could totally pull off a 'Fighter'-esque album. She'd have to avoid the Pink comparisons, but if she did it in a more 'Stripped' anthemic and powerful way rather than pop punk.

Then again, I don't think having another 'themed' album would work. People want to see Christina be Christina. Only problem is, because she changes her style up with each release - nobody really knows what it is. Their best guess is 'Stripped'.

I think song wise, her true self is found on "Stripped." That album was so personal and truthful (minus a couple of songs, of course). "Back to Basics" was good but I think it would it would have been BRILLIANT if she would have made it just one album with all of her tracks on the second disk with a couple on the first.

This has turned into my favorite song on the album and I think it should be the next single. Everything about this song is perfect from the dreamy quality to the amazing vocals. I wish the whole album had similar qualities, to be honest!
