I've already started listening.
October through December not bad, right?
Any other BWWers already listening to Christmas Music?
Nope. It's off limits until Thanksgiving Day and it's killing me cause there are new Xmas releases from Sandy Patty and Point of Grace.
It's comin' on Christmas
They're cuttin' down trees...
not yet......prob around Nov 15........it does sicken me though that stores are selling Xmas stuff as of the end of September...TOO soon.

I have carols playing outside my home for the last few weeks of the holiday season, so I wait until then to listen to carols in earnest. However, I've won the bidding on an Ebay auction for a CD of pipe organ and chimes--it's my absolutely favorite kind of Christmas music. It reminds me of walking the Midnight Mass with my parents in Brooklyn. The church organist always played a half hour of organ and chimes before mass and broadcast them from the church steeple.
I haven't started listening to Holiday music yet, but I have started scouting out what I am going to buy this year.
I tend to buy 3 or 4 holiday albums a year.
I was just over at the Sh-K-Boutique buying the Broadway Cares X-mas album.
oh my God patronus, you ARE my twin...I tend to buy 3 or 4 a year, also.....and since I have already around 80 cd's of Xmas music....my partner is less than thrilled, LOL
I bought something two years ago that was the stars of the West End doing Xmas carols.......
Us California guys gotta stick together.
That West End CD sounds interesting. Is it still commercially available?
i hate it cuz i wait till the day after thanksgiving.... but then i listen to it all day everyday until
no idea, I bought it at one of those tacky, cheap record stores in a mall, not a chain. I'll find it and send you the ISSN number so you can look for it

I hate the fact that many radio stations go to an All-Christmas format right after Thanksgiving. They have a limited playlist and I wind up hearing "The Chipmunk Song" every twenty minutes.
last year i heard one station start a week before thanksgiving... that was just bad. playing christmas songs every so often is a lot better.
but i wont lie... sometimes i listen to the "all christmas-all the time" stations when i get in the mood... but for an hour the most haha
I haven't started it yet -but when I do, it will probably be Nancy LaMott's christmas CD, revolving with Julie Andrews'.
I'm a hopeless christmas music addict...but holding out until thanksgiving...
Working at Best Buy last year during the season almost cured me of it, they started pumping it mid October, by December puncturing my ear drums seemed like a reasonable solution...
wow... i work at media play, which is just like it (you're our competition grrrrr) and we don't overplay it... which is nice!
There was an ironclad rule in my house growing up. Christmas music may not be played until after the Macy's Parade is over on Thanksgiving (Santa ushering in the holiday season and all that). Now I can't help but hold to that rule. Unfortunatly my husband is not the Christmas music fan that I am so I don't get to play it constantly like we did growing up, but I do have one of those clocks that plays carols every hour which comes out every Thanksgiving.
I have thought about busting out the Christmas music today. I had a rough day (my mother would drive a saint to murder) so I partook in a little retail therapy. So I wouldn't feel guilty about it later I got about 12 of my Christmas shopping done and wrapped this afternoon. I plan to be done Christmas shopping by Thanksgiving. That way I can put my tree up (which is always done after the Macy's day parade in my house too
) and then slide the presents under there and wait til the big day.

cant wait for the next Carols for a Cure, as well as Regis's Xmas CD, and his duet with Donald Trump on Rudolph the Red Nosed Raindeer
Albin, Sandi Patty. She is wonderful!
I haven't started yet, but I'm looking forward to putting on the "Charlie Brown Christmas" CD!
A few of my favorites:
"When a Child is Born" (Who ever sings it.)
"I Watch You Sleeping" Frances Ruffelle from Save the Children Christmas CD

Are you people kidding me? Thank the frickin' lord I'll only have to put up with a few days of the American holiday season. Also, Chanukah starts on Christmas Day this year, so I'll be able to ignor the latter completely.
24-hour carol stations make me want to break things.

Wow, I think so much of it is so beautiful.
I'm listening to my CDs (on my iPod) for now so I can have the radio on when ever home as soon as the 24 hour Xmas music starts.
