I posted this on the main board, but no one seems to be responding. Anyway -
I'm looking into the Circle in the School Theatre School's musical theatre program - both the summer and professional workshops. I've heard mixed things about the school, though. Is it good? Is it worth the money? If not, which programs are?
I've always been under the impression that they have a good reputation. At least that's what someone I knew once told me about them, but that was also quite a few years ago so I'm not sure if it's changed.

i did a workshop with a movement teacher and a song interpretation teacher from there and it was INCREDIBLE. the people i know who have done the summer workshop have said it's a really great experience.
my voice teacher is a teacher there, as well. he's ridiculously awesome. the way he can improve someone's voice is amazing.
My best friend's dad went to both the summer program, and the regular school. He was planning on doing just the summer, but loved it so much that he asked them to let him audition for the school spontaneously. They agreed, and he went, and loved it as well. He is now a very succesful film actor. He has only the nicest things to say about it.
I am in the summer program right now. Let me give you a little background.
I go to a performing arts high school on 48th Street called Professional Performing Arts School. I've been performing since I was little and have done a lot of training throughout my life. I'm 17 years old right now. I work at Hairspray and Jersey Boys selling merchandise, and I've got quite a lot of experience being in and around the theater, etc.
Let me just tell you, Circle in the Square Theatre School is probably the most incredible acting program that exists. For my whole high school career I've been aiming at a 4-year college so I can receive a degree, but at this point I love it at Circle so much that I am thinking about just doing the two year program.
All of the teachers are top-notch artists and know what it means to be a true artist. To be completely honest, Circle in the Square has changed the way I see the arts completely, for the better. I used to be extremely frightened of shakespeare and other classical texts... after circle in the square's classes on classical text, i find it easy to understand shakespeare and i am getting better and better at the inspiration.
I could go on and on and on for hours... If not the 2 year program, try the 7 week summer intensive. It's absolutely incredible and I could not have asked for something better to be doing during my summer off from school.

Ken, I see you go to my rival school. LaGuardia rules!
*hides*
Just kidding, LaG does rule, but so does PPAS.
(sorry, thread jack)

What technique do you use in acting class?
I'm really intrested in doing the summer intensive next year, for acting. How diffuclt is it to get into? and How does the audition process go?

in acting at circle in the square it is mostly a stanislavski method.

And all interest I had to go there just went out the window.
