Went to see Dames night and noticed a new addition to the landscape. We had not been on that block for awhile and we surprised to see a new sort of upscale food court

On the corner of 8th Avenue and 44th street ,next to the Row Hotel is City Kitchens.It is a really nice addition to the area. It is super convenient and offers many different cuisines. I have no idea how long it has been there but it appears to be relatively new. Next time we are there we will check it out.

The show was very entertaining and glad we saw it

There is an entrance on 44th street.It is apparently part of the Row as there is another entrance inside the hotel

It's been there since the spring, I believe. It used to be the hotel's lounge area.

The Lounge area is unchanged. it was office space. A friend of mine works there. Also said a famous restaurant was there called Mamma Leones that is in a Billy Joel Song.

There also used to be a seafood restaurant there. It might have been Joe's Pier 52which moved

Mama's used to be right near the Walter Kerr. It had to move to make way for, what else, a luxury condo. It never really survived the move.

I remember that I was so young at the time, that I thought Mama Leone's was the epitome of fine, authentic Italian food. I recall how impressed I was that cheese was brought to the table in big chunks that we would cut from! I guess I was too young to realize it was a tourist's idea of Italian food, a la Olive Garden.
