Clam Chowder! What's your preference?

New England or Manhattan?

I myself am a New England man. It's hearty and filling. Plus, potatoes, a big plus.

So, which do you all prefer?

I'll take Manhattan

Allergic
Cheyenne Jackson tickled me. AFTER ordering SoMMS a drink but NOT tickling him, and hanging out with Girly in his dressing room (where he DIDN'T tickle her) but BEFORE we got married. To others. And then he tweeted Boobs. He also tweeted he's good friends with some chick on "The Voice" who just happens to be good friends with Tink's ex. And I'm still married. Oh, and this just in: "Pettiness, spite, malice ....Such ugly emotions... So sad." - After Eight, talking about MEEEEEEEE!!! I'm so honored! :-)

New England- all the way! Not even a blink to think about it. Oooh- now I'm craving it but it's like 80 degrees here today- soup always tastes better when it's cold! mom

New England -- but not that thick paste most places call chowder.

I also like Rhode Island chowder, but not many places serve it.

Yay!

artscallion, do you know anywhere in the city that does it right? There was a restaurant in South Jersey that made a great Rhode Island clam chowder, but I haven't found a good substitute here, yet.

I remember the first time I ordered clam chowder here and was served some sort of red oil in a bowl. Disgusting.

New England Clam Chowder, preferably from Village Market in Ogunquit, ME. It's divine.

New England!

And for those of you in the L.A. area (either local or passing through), head out to Santa Monica's "Ye Olde King's Head" pub & restaurant, near the ocean on Santa Monica Blvd.

Their New England Clam Chowder is the best you will ever have, EVER. In your life. EVER. The end. EVER.

New England. . .
I have NEVER met Cheyenne Jackson. I have never hung out with him in his dressing room, he did not tweet me, he never bought me a beverage, and he mostly certainly didn't tickle me. . .that is all.

Calvin, I've never thought to order it in the city. So I don't know. Fortunately, I live in Rhode Island so can get it anytime I want. Maybe next time I come into the city, I'll bring ya some.

I like New England, but I prefer Man Chowder.

I love clam chowder but Manhattan is my favorite.

Try the Cabbage soup at the Edison. My favorite soup of all!

Yum! I just had some yesterday (New England) with oyster crackers.

I still thoroughly enjoyed it even though it was 80 degree weather re: Clam Chowder! What's your preference?

Indeed, blueroses!

I might try it. I can't tell if that's just the soup mix, or if the clams come with it. I'd be a little squeamish ordering clams through the mail!

and art, I'm holding you to that. re: Clam Chowder! What's your preference?

I guess it's just frozen stock. If it helps alleviate the squeamishness, my cousin always orders those Chesapeake Bay crabcakes and lobster cakes from either QVC or HSN and they were always very good!

New England defines clam chowder, as far as I'm concerned. YUM!
