When I was in college and stupid, I once tried canned shrimp bisque.
I don't recommend it.

Of the clams, I prefer New England. But I'm with SOMMS, corn chowder is my most favoritest soup of all.

Course I wouldn't turn down a nice crock of onion soup with lots of broiled bread and cheese on top either.

Whenever I have it, I can't keep my hands off of the oyster crackers. I LOVE them! Like the bisque isn't fattening enough on it's own.

'head out to Santa Monica's "Ye Olde King's Head"'
Will have to try it the next time I'm out. Better than Gladstone's?
One of the best I've had was in San Diego, the restaurant where that Top Chef contestant Brian works.

There's nothing as delicious as good New England clam chowder, YUM!
Manhattan clam chowder it's as Rath put it, just some disgusting red oil, UGH.
And yes, a good lobster bisque is orgasmic.

I've never had lobster anything.
Ilove New England Clam Chowder, though. I didn't know there was any other kind until I ordered a bowl at a place in RI and was given...not New England.

If you like seafood, you'll love a good lobster!
And lobster bisque is just the best thing ever!

I adore seafood! It's sad, I know. I even live in CT. My grandmother is in RI, right on the coast.
And I still haven't had it.

Lobster, King Crab, oysters, mussels, shrimp...I love any and all shellfish. Even steamers--the dregs of the sea! My mom and I used to go to Lundy's in Sheepshead Bay and eat them at the counter. Not sure if that place is there anymore.

If there is seafood, I am in Heaven. I do agree with the lobster bisque people. It is a rich and silky treat.

The only thing I can't do is the soft shelled crabs.
Just the thought of putting the whole thing in my mouth creeps me out.

I've never had lobster anything either...I haven't eaten seafood since I was a kid. Kind of sad, since I live in America's oldest seaport. There's seafood everywhere. Gorton's Seafood? That's from this town.
I'll get around to the seafood someday. I watch it made on the Food Network and it looks delicious. Maybe if I can get lobster served to me sans the beady eyes staring at me, I'll try it.
