Posted: 8/2/05 at 10:12pmOver the years were these soaps archived? Was there ever an attempt at a soap opera channel on cable? I wish they would rebroadcast this stuff. Like they do on the Game Show Network. Can you imagine watching Soaps from the 50's, 60's, and 70's? WHAT A HOOT!!!

Not with any cable company I've ever had. I have a few specials on tape that were shown, mostly with flashbacks. I might have a few of the Nurses Balls on tape, too.

Posted: 8/2/05 at 10:19pmThere is a soap channel called Soap Net - and there was one summer some years ago where they showed GH reruns during the days of Luke and Laura and the nightclub. It was great as I was working with a producer at that time who had a play with a part that was perfect for Denise Alexander, and I was able to tape those old shows and show him some great scenes.

Technically, Robin was diagnosed HIV+. Her boyfriend, Stone, did die of AIDS, though. She's doing good, on her medical regimen and is studying to be a Dr. in... Rath? Where is she again?
She came back within the last couple years, when it turned out Anna was alive.

Posted: 8/2/05 at 10:33pmThanks...I always wondered what happened to her. I always thought it was cool that the same actress played her from the time she was a little girl, through being a teenager, rather than "speed up" her aging process, like they do on so many soaps.

I loved when she came on the show as a little girl. What a cutie she was!
Oh, and I can talk All My Children pretty well, also!

I believe Robin is in France - and her portrayer, Kimberly McCullough, had a recurring spot on Joan of Arcadia, which of course starred Amber Tamblyn, who also played her character on GH from the time she was a child up through age 16 or so. Natalia Livingston's portrayal of Emily pales in comparison.
Dylan Cash, who plays Michael and is about 9 years old now, has been playing the character since he was a baby.

Aww, I was debating replying to this, had a GH obsession in the mid 90s, but in the process watched past episodes and such.
In answer of the rebroadcasting these episodes, before Port Charles premiered, ABC had "Daytime to Remember" that Reba McEntire hosted that I think showed classic eps from all the ABC soaps, but my sis had all the GH ones on tape, those were cool to see.
Wow no pun intended but I loved Lucy! Had to reply to the Nurses Ball, I loved those! Wizard of Oz in '95, Lucy/Katherine feuds, how Lucy always ended up in her undies during "one," Hey Big Spender in '98...man lotsa showtunes.
In terms of Alan/Emily...they were in the Wizard of Oz together, Emily was Dorothy and Alan/Stu was the lion.
Not sure if I can remember any others...Emily joined Edward for "I don't need anything but you"...also loved Wally Kurth in the ball
And I love "The Power To Believe." I have Wally Kurth's rendition on CD, it's one of the most gorgeous songs ever.

it's funny you would think that after all those years on GH, that robin would be a better actress but she is REALLY bad. i couldn't stand her especially when she had that god-awful, stereotypical (italian?) grandmother. wow, what an annoying pair. throw in mikey to the mix and it was ham city!
the soap network is missing a huge audience by not showing old gh's. i know that have/had? ryan's hope on for awhile but i never watched it in the old days and never watched the reruns.

I adored Frisco and Felicia in the heyday. Jack Wagner was too adorable.
When they got married in real life, I thought it was the greatest thing.
That's before I became a cynic. I think I became cynical when they got divorced in real life.
Oh and special love to Dr. Noah Drake.

Posted: 8/3/05 at 12:19pmI saw Jack Wagner and Rick Springfield perform at the Garden State Arts Center. Enjoyed both their shows.

That's amazing! I started watching GH during Rick Springfield's last days on the show. I've always regretted not seeing more of him on the show.
Now my childhood fantasies are coming true.
Maybe one day Blackie will get out of jail.
